Our Story
Our Story
Eoin and Kristin met in 2014 at “IntroDUCKtion” — what the University of Oregon calls its freshman orientation. The two spent loads of time together their freshman year — studying for their business classes, avoiding studying for their business classes, conveniently going to the gym at the same time, and getting into a healthy amount of trouble with their friends in the dorms.
It wasn't until early Sophomore year that the two realized their "flirtation-ship" was evolving. They both remember a particular night when Eoin drove Kristin home after studying at the library. Kristin agreed to a stop at the gas station (for gas his car didn't need) and they would both later admit that they were stalling saying goodbye. When they finally parted, he infamously texted her to ask her how she was feeling about them. Although still making fun of him for not addressing it in person, she recalls being too excited to sleep that night and having butterflies as they texted throughout Winter Break.
The two officially started dating during their next term. The rest of their time at Oregon consisted of sorority/fraternity functions, many nights out with their friends, falling in love with each others’ families during trips to Bend and the Bay Area, and Kristin's 3-month marketing internship in Spain.
After graduation in 2018, the two moved from Eugene, Oregon to Los Gatos, California where they started their careers — Eoin in corporate finance and Kristin in corporate marketing — and were fortunate enough to live in the Conroys' guest house to get a head start on adulthood.
After bearing the pandemic together and adjusting to post-covid life, Eoin and Kristin moved into their house in the outskirts of San Jose, California in 2022. Kristin loves to hike in the surrounding hills, Eoin uses the space to work on his classic trucks, and they adore hosting their friends and family there. (All of their engagement photos were taken within a few minutes of their home.)
While they love a night in eating pasta on the couch, they travel often. With much of Eoin's family in Ireland, and Kristin's in Oregon/Texas, they always have trips planned. They've vacationed in Mexico, Croatia, and Costa Rica together, and spent weekends in Denver and Nashville for country concerts. They love to camp with friends or just the two of them. Eoin recently put a rooftop tent on his rebuilt 1971 Ford F250.
The Proposal
On Friday, August 25th of 2023, Eoin urged Kristin to wrap up work early so they could go out for “date night,” starting with drinks at the reservoir down the road. She was skeptical of his spontaneous date night planning, but still shocked when he dropped to one knee at the edge of the reservoir. As she said yes, Eoin gestured toward the parking lot where the Conroys, the Schwagers, and the Boones — who had flown in from Oregon to surprise her — were emerging from hiding. Of course, she started bawling.
Now they’re planning their dream wedding in Central Oregon and cannot wait for you to be a part of it.
