We are so glad you are here.

We are glad to be here too.

Now, how did we get here? We were both on the Atlanta Beltline on March 28, 2022. One of us was rollerblading with a friend (Eric) and one of us was solo walking (Maddie). Spring was in the air (and so was love?).

A serendipitous moment occurred when Maddie stopped to talk to a friend. While chatting, someone yelled at them and as she turned around, her first thought was "wow, that's a lot of red hair on skates".

Enter Eric and his friend who stopped to talk to the same friend Maddie was talking to.

We locked eyes; curious to learn more. After this chance encounter Maddie was promptly added to the Atlanta Rollerblade group message and Eric went to go check his references on this mysterious belt line woman.

A few months passed by of inaction and we ran into each other at a friend’s birthday party on July 4, 2022. Pleasantries were exchanged. Stories of hiking, travel, and summer were shared. Maddie left the party early but thought "Wow! Eric was really nice".

Then September 15, 2022 rolled by and Maddie got a random call from Eric to ask her on a date. “Wait, why's the July 4th guy calling me? He was cool”, Maddie thought to herself.

*Texts roommates: “Y’ALL. Eric Sutliff just asked me out!”

*Roommates: “Wait! The guy with all the books? The one who runs? He’s so cool!”

And they were right!

Of course, the first date was a 7am coffee walk 11 days later. Oh the wait was killer!

Writing this over a year and a half later and we can't help but laugh, smile, and shake our heads at the joy it has been to go from strangers on the belt line to best friends soon to be walking down the aisle.

September 7th... we can't wait for it to get here!
