When Elijah began his first year at the Free Lutheran Bible College, he told his friends and family that he wasn’t going to date anyone for at least a year. A few weeks later, Elijah met Erica. She was a year ahead of him in school and way out of his league, or so he thought.The term “love at first sight” sounds cliché, but as Erica and Elijah look back on that day, it seems fitting. Elijah quickly decided that maybe a year was too long to wait to start dating, and after another couple months of getting to know Erica, he asked her to be his girlfriend in October of 2022.

In one of the first conversations they ever had together, Erica asked Elijah to take her to Uganda where he had grown up. One and a half years later, Elijah granted that wish, and on the banks of the Nile River he asked her to be his wife. They are beyond excited to begin this new season of marriage together, serving the Lord and each other to the best of their abilities!
