Erica and Matt moved into the same dorm building in August of 2014, suggesting the two crossed paths many times for several years throughout their time at The College of Saint Rose before meeting in the fall of 2018 after graduating from undergraduate studies.

The two arguably fell in love at first sight when they met in Matt's house he was renting with a friend. At the time, Erica's roommate was dating Matt's roommate and the four of them conveniently spent most weekends together hanging out at "316" before going to Pearl Street Pub. It wasn't long before Erica convinced Matt she would be the love of his life by telling him, if he didn't date her, it would be the biggest mistake of his life!

About a month later, on the ride back from Jiminy Peak after skiing, Erica asked Matt the dreaded question, "so, what are we?" To which he replied something along the lines of "boyfriend and girlfriend, I guess!" The calendar date was deemed unmemorable by Erica, so a few days later on New Years, she re-asked Matt to be her boyfriend making their anniversary January first.

The following June, Erica and Matt drove to the Adirondacks in hopes of meeting a puppy they could bring home. On June 9th 2019, the shy, cute, and skinny puppy who was later named Luka, was adopted. He quickly grew and adapted to their busy lifestyle, coming with them nearly everywhere they went.

They rented their first apartment together the following month in Troy and since, they've moved three times; the last taking place in December 2023 when they moved into their first house. Working on their 1860s farmhouse and surrounding land has become one of their favorite pastimes. The two look forward to making continued memories in their home throughout the summer and all of the years to come!
