What is the dress code? Dress code is cocktail attire. No jeans please. Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors? The ceremony is outdoors. The cocktail hour has indoor and outdoor space. The reception will be in an open-air barn. Please check weather and dress accordingly. What will the weather be like? Typical weather for northern Michigan in late June is around 70°F. However, weather is unpredictable so please check the forecast ahead of the wedding. How do I RSVP?Please RSVP on our Wedding Website on The Knot under the RSVP section. When should I RSVP by? Please RSVP as soon as possible to help us for planning purposes but no later than May 26th. Where can I stay? Please refer to our wedding website under Accommodations. The hotel blocks are at Hotel Indigo. Has transport been arranged to and/or from the hotel to the venue? Yes. There will be a shuttle bus from the Hotel Indigo to Black Star Farms. There will be one shuttle to take you out to the venue leaving at 2:15p.m. There will be two shuttles at the end of the night one leaving at 9:00p.m. and one leaving at 10:15p.m. Where can I park?You will be directed where to park when you enter the winery. It will be immediately to your right when you enter the winery and there will be attendants to help you park. Which airport is closest?Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City (17 minutes from downtown Traverse City)Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan (2.5 hours from downtown Traverse City)Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in Detroit (4 hours from downtown Traverse City) Are there any local places you’d recommend I visit while I’m in town? Recommendations are on our wedding website under the section Things to Do. Will food be served? Yes. We will have appetizers at cocktail hour and dinner, dessert, and a late night snack at the reception. You will decide your dinner main course when you RSVP. Are children invited? While we love your children, this is adults-only for both ceremony and reception. There will unfortunately be no exceptions to this because we want to be respectful and not say yes to some people and no to others. Thank you for understanding. Are you using a gift registry service? We are registered at Zola. You can find this by going to Zola, going to our wedding website under the section Registry, or using the link below. https://www.zola.com/wedding/michaelandericajune29 Should we bring gifts, or send them ahead of time? We prefer that you send them ahead of time since we do not live in Traverse City. We will have a space to put cards and small gifts at the reception. Are you having an unplugged wedding? Please no photos during the ceremony so it does not distract from our professional photographers. At the reception, feel free to take as many photos as you would like. Will you be changing your name(s)?Erica will not be legally changing her name right now. She will hyphenate at some point, but it is okay to still refer to us as The Magas. I still have questions! A ton of great local wineries with gorgeous water views. I prefer the Old Mission side because it has better water views. Our favorites are:-Mari Vineyards (voted by Forbes as one of the top most beautiful vineyards)-Brys Estates-Bowers Harbor-Bonobo-Chateau Chantal (least favorite for wine but the view is unbeatable).
