Kevin and Erica's story began in the summer of 2022, when they became friends on Instagram, casually messaging each other about music. They would eventually meet each other the following year in January 2023.

It was the first CYA (College Young Adults) ministry night of the year, and as the pastor directed the ministry to greet one another, Erica noticed Kevin sitting in front of her. She decided to make the first move to approach him and invited him to meet her after service at the welcome center to plug him and his friends further into the ministry. A couple of CYA nights would bring the two to socialize after service.

From there, Kevin invited Erica to join him and his friends for dinner. From that night on, Erica and Kevin exchanged numbers and developed a great friendship over the next six months. It was at a worship night she was invited to, where Kevin led worship, that she realized that she loved his heart for the Lord. For the next few months, she would pray for him, and from there, her fondness for him grew.

It was the summer months before Erica would depart on a mission trip to Kenya, where she expressed her feelings for Kevin at the local In-N-Out parking lot. Surprised, Kevin spent time with her confession and would return the sentiment sometime in August, back at the In-N-Out parking lot after she returned from Kenya.

The two began going on a couple of dates in September, including a 5-hour first date, playing "we're not really strangers." On September 9th, 2023, the couple went to Orange County and shared a night at downtown Disney, where Kevin would ultimately ask Erica to be his girlfriend.

From then on, the couple have been joyously experiencing the thrill of meeting their match. From coffee dates and several In-N-Out visits (some including confessions for each other), and church-going, Kevin and Erica have spent countless hours getting to know each other and the heart of Christ for each other. They've celebrated two years formally dating and pursuing Christ as they would pursue each other.

Two happy years later, Kevin proposed to Erica in Claremont on October 26th in the midst of a cheerful group of family and friends.

The two are elated to grow in faith and intimacy as they enter this covenant to come, and cannot wait to add more sweet memories to their testimonies and lives together.
