Erica and Corey's love story began with a leap of last chance, a little faith and a swipe right on Facebook. Each had decided to give the app one last go round (before deleting the next day). As fate would have it, they matched! But the real magic began with a simple question... "So what's going to be our first adventure?"

From the moment Corey posed the question early on in the initial introductory conversation, he had captured Erica's intrigue. And after an over 6 hour conversation on the phone, Corey had a strong inkling that she could be 'the BIG CATCH'! This was solidified for him after their first in-person date when she drove him back to his car to 'make sure he made it okay'!

For Erica, it took a little longer (but not too much longer). She knew she'd met the man of her dreams after spending an evening playing Jeopardy and watching Ghostbusters, but it was solidified after watching him insist on walking half a mile to to a gas station to get help for her broken down car and keep her safe. From then on, she knew she never wanted to be without him again! He was, indeed, her +1!

Together the two had gone from never seeing marriage in the picture to falling in love fast and hard! From teaching one another, to showing each other new places and things, each changed the perspectives of the other's heart and mind, making them better people.

After a year of dating/courting, Corey mustered up the courage to officially ask for Erica's hand in marriage. He'd made up his mind a long time ago (and even shared his intent several times already) that she was the one, but he needed to buy the ring. So after several scouting questions for what kind of ring she wanted, and plenty of "I have no ideas, I never even pictured getting married!" Corey took her desire for a symbol of his love with something 'blue' in it to always remind her of him, and found the perfect piece.

With intense, nerves, butterflies, and anxiety on December 21st, 2022, he blew into her bedroom like a storm, dropped down on one knee and asked "Can I do this the right way now?" And held out the ring. Erica, in her pjs and fully enthralled in tv, looked over and nearly fell off the bed in shock. But with a small smile and a heart full of joy she recovered, slid to the floor with him and replied " Are you sure?"

And together they SAID YES!
