The historic Walnut Street Bridge is in the heart of downtown and allows access to views of both north and south Chattanooga as well as the Tennessee River. The bridge ends at Frazier Ave in Northshore which has many shops and local eateries to visit. The shops and restaurants back up to Coolidge Park that overlooks the river. The park is a great place for picnics and outdoor games; it also house an indoor carousel for children.
Chattanooga Southside
The southside of Chattanooga is walkable to various local restaurants and bars including State of Confusion, Stir, Flying Squirrel, Frothy Monkey for coffee, and many more. The wedding venue is within the southside and walking distance to each of these locations.
St. Elmo - Incline Railway, Lookout Mtn - Sunset Rock
St. Elmo is a quaint neighborhood within Chattanooga that has access to the historic Incline Railway. The railway leads you up the side of Lookout Mtn with panoramic views of Tennessee Valley from the deck at the top.
The Bluff Trail is a hiking trail on Lookout Mtn and takes you through history as the Battle of Lookout Mtn. took place in 1863. The hike also leads you to Cravens House which is the oldest surviving structure on the mountain and was a focal point in the 1863 battle. The hike ends at Sunset Rock, a scenic overlook located on the western bluff. Simply google “Cravens House to Sunset Rock” for trailhead directions, or you can bypass the hike and drive to “Sunset Rock” and walk about .3 miles to the overlook (parking is very limited).
