Our Wedding

We met at Penn State through various American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) events. Right before COVID-19 hit, both of us chose to run for officer positions in ASCE. After the elections in the Spring of 2020, we started becoming friends and talking more while making it through the summer in isolation. Once we returned to Penn State in the Fall of 2020, we had a small group of friends who would hang out together frequently. This led to us becoming better friends and even running together multiple times a week. Once we were hanging out alone enough times, our friends started to bug us about how we should just date already, but we didn't listen. Once we came back to school in the Spring of 2021 for our final semester, we were hanging out with each other almost daily and were basically dating. We decided not to make anything official since we weren't sure where we were both going to end up after college. After we both received and accepted job offers in the Harrisburg area, without the other knowing, we made it official. We have spent the last four years in the Harrisburg area, with many foster pets, adopting our own elderly cat, traveling to 21 different states, and buying a house. After fulfilling the plan to both get our Professional Engineering licenses before getting engaged, in July 2025, Rob proposed to Erica on a hike along the Appalachian Trail in Virginia. Now we are excited to celebrate our marriage with our closest friends and family by our side!

My name is RJ and I am the wedding officiant. I have known Rob his entire life as I am his eldest cousin. This will be the first ceremony I perform so please go easy on me.

Meet our wonderful Wedding Party!

Erica and Lexie met and became friends in 2011 in middle school! They formed many memories over the last 14 years, including Rob and Lexie meeting at a State College party in 2021. Lexie is honored and so excited to be apart of Erica and Rob’s big day!

Lexie Schailey

I met both in college, Rob freshmen year and Erica in our third year. Rob and I had almost identical schedules those first two years so we hit it off. Ended up living together at The Pointe, with quite a few interesting characters. We met Erica when we all ran for officer positions in ASCE, unfortunately I lost but they both won and through my relationship with Rob I became more familiar and friendly with Erica. And now here I am attending their wedding and bringing the party to wedding party.

Dallas Miller

Sydney met Rob and Erica during their time in the Penn State Civil Engineering program.  Whether it was Tuesday morning runs or Dollar Nacho Night, you could always find their CE gang hanging out together. Now they enjoy less frequent but jam packed weekends together supplemented by group facetimes. 

Sydney Gilbert

Charlie met Rob and Erica through their engineering club at Penn State. Rob and Erica were two years ahead of Charlie in school, but they quickly became close friends and mentors to Charlie while sharing many hikes and a summer in Harrisburg. Charlie was so relieved when Erica and Rob FINALLY admitted they liked each other and started dating and couldn’t be more proud to stand by their side as they tie the knot.

I became friends with Erica and Rob during our time at Penn State civil engineering. We’ve had some great times together including our running group, quality time at Erica’s college house, ski trips, continuously cheering each other on throughout our engineering careers, visits to our respective post-college “adult” homes, & much more! I have so much love for these two and am so excited to see where the future takes them! ❤️

Hi! I’m Morgan, and I’ve known Erica and Rob for a few years! We met in the fall of 2022, when they introduced me to their casual volleyball team. Erica and I bonded over recipes, gardening, and the outdoors. Rob and I share an excitement over interesting beer and ciders. Through the years, they have welcomed me into their friend group, volleyball and kickball team, and many outdoor camping & hiking trips. I can’t wait to celebrate with them on their big day!

Hi! My name is Jack. Whether it was movie nights, sporting events, or simply grabbing a meal, Rob and Erica are a joy to be with. I first met Rob at Penn State Abington during the many early classes we shared. From the bar craws to the football games to the 4 am wake-up call to be on College Game Day, I knew Rob was a great friend with an unrivaled passion and charisma. I've known Erica since we were 6 years old at the now demolished Stackpole Elementary School. We went through Elementary, Middle, and High School together. Without a doubt, I could not think of two people that complement each other more than Rob and Erica.

I met Rob in college and he became one of my best friends. Then he started dating Erica and I realized, "hey I went to high school with her. It's a small world."

Everett -  I met the bride and groom at a Christmas party with my new girlfriend at the time, Morgan. She introduced me to this couple she met playing volleyball. The rest is history!

Matt - I went to Penn State with Rob and Erica. We got closer when I moved to Harrisburg and signed up to play HYP sports with Rob and Erica. Particularly volleyball and kickball. I also work in the same office as Erica.

Travel

Since our wedding is in the colder months when there are less things to do outside, we wanted to share our favorite things to do in March!

The West Shore Farmers Market is a local market that we frequently take visitors to. It has fresh produce, meat, and you can even grab a bite to eat.

We would do various hikes on these trails when they lived in Enola. The trail is easy to moderate and gives you a nice view of the Rockville Bridge and the Statue of Liberty from various spots.

Cove Mountain Trailhead

We love to go to this brewery with friends on weekends. They have great beer and amazing gluten free options.

This is a great local bakery that any visitors we have taken to have loved!
