On July 2, 2020, one of the first nights that outdoor dining opened in New York City during Covid, Erica and Jordan and their respective groups of friends stumbled into each other on the corner of 1st Avenue and St Mark's Place.

Erica wasn’t convinced to take the gathering back to Jordan's new apartment in the East Village but the groups were excited to socialize in the height of a pandemic, so she reluctantly obliged. That night, Erica happened to take a picture on her phone of one of Jordan's friends and Jordan asked her to send it to him which meant he smoothly got her number. From there, he continued to be persistent in pursuing Erica and one day she eventually gave Jordan a shot and never looked back.

After more than a year and a half dating in NYC, Erica and Jordan decided they would continue the unexpected and move to Charleston, SC to live together for the first time. The two enjoyed CHS for six months but always felt they would return to NYC where their family and most friends remained.

On Thursday, June 8th, 2023, Jordan left their apartment for a golf trip that wasn't. Erica was planning to meet Jordan's sister, Sydney, for a girls day on Roosevelt Island that Saturday, June 10th until Jordan tapped her on the shoulder and asked if the two of them would like a picture. Once Erica realized it was in fact Jordan in front of her, he took a knee to ask her for her hand in marriage. The rest is history and the couple cannot wait to celebrate their wedding day with their family and friends.
