It was the year of 2015 when Erica and Byron had their first date. Byron had asked Erica out for a romantic date but what he didn’t know was that his father had other plans. On this date Erica was greeted by Byron’s dad, Step-Mom, Sister and step-sister. At first Erica thought the family tagged along to drop them off at the movies. That wasn’t the case, Erica, Byron and his family all arrive at the movie theatre. Byron and Erica take a seat in the row they chose. And in the row of seats behind them sat Byron’s family. Erica and Byron only being 15 were awkward and didn’t necessarily know how to go on a date. They didn’t hold hands, they didn’t hug, but what were they supposed to do with his dad lingering over his shoulder. After the movie they went to Whataburger to get some food, again Erica and Byron find a seat for themselves, and his family found a seat next to them. At the end of the night they both had a silent agreement that they weren’t gonna look or talk to each other again based on the awkwardness of their first date.

Fast forward to the year 2020, both Erica and Byron have grown and somewhat forgot about the horror that was their first date. Erica had moved from Magnolia Texas to Perkins Oklahoma, she wanted a fresh start. It was a random October day when Byron had messaged Erica on Snapchat just curious on how she was doing and where life has taken her. It threw Erica for a loop initially, she was confused on why he thought of her, after 5 years of not talking to each other, or even looking at each other. Why think of her? Erica wasn’t always a happy trusting person and she had told him that at the beginning. Talking on Snapchat grew to texts, texts led to phone calls, and phone calls led to Skype. Before they knew it they were falling madly in love with each other. It was November 15th when Byron asked Erica to be his girlfriend and of course she said yes, she would have been stupid not too. Six months go by and Byron moves up to Oklahoma with Erica, they didn’t know how well this was going to work. But what they did know is that they were going to try. It was 2022 when they got into their first home together, that home opening up so many opportunities and let them grow their love for each other even more. It was December 17th 2022 when Byron realized he had found the girl he had been waiting for his whole life. He proposed and she said yes, and the rest is yet to come.
