Dane and Erica met in 2015 at College of the Canyons in a psychology class. After Erica stole Dane's seat on the second day of class, they have been pretty much inseparable since.

After Erica graduated from College of the Canyons, she went to school at UC Davis and they ended up spending time apart for that year. When Dane graduated from College of the Canyons the following year, he went to Sacramento State and Erica and Dane were able to spend time together again and their relationship grew stronger than ever.

After spending another year apart after Erica graduated from UC Davis, Dane graduated from Sacramento State and then they were able to live together in Southern California.

Erica and Dane went through the craziness of 2020 together and in 2021, they moved into their own place in Woodland Hills, CA, where they are still living today.

On August 7, 2022, Dane took Erica on a surprise date on a gondola ride in Long Beach, CA. After finding a message in a bottle while on the gondola, Erica read the message which said "Mrs. Cannon has a nice ring to it. Doesn't it?" Dane got down on one knee (in a wobbly boat), and asked Erica to marry him, which she of course said yes.

Since that day in 2022, Erica and Dane have been working on their careers and even have two fur babies, Tucker and October, together. They have been patiently awaiting the day when they can finally marry each other and start their lives together as Mr and Mrs. Cannon.
