The Town

If you've never heard of Zihuatanejo, or Zihua, you're not alone. Zihua is a vibrant small town on Mexico's Pacific Coast, just south of the more well-known city Ixtapa. It's a bit less touristy, and still has the authenticity of real Mexico. The Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo (ZIH) International Airport is just a 20 minute drive from the town, which has several cute Airbnb's and boutique hotels.

Getting There

For those located in Southern California, we recommend flying out of LAX or Tijuana (located on the US side of the boarder – More information below). Prices start at $300 and range depending on where you’re flying out of, and if you have a direct or non-stop flight. For first time Tijuana airport flyers, thanks to the Cross Border Xpress (CBX) terminal, Tijuana airport is easily accessible from the US side of the border, therefore you will not need to cross the border to enter the airport. It is a smooth and easy process, with parking options ranging from valet to free parking. Please reach out if we can answer any of your travel questions!

Where To Stay

We've provided recommendations below, but these are just some of the many options! While you’ll find direct links to their websites, if hotels show as fully booked, we recommend utilizing travel sites, such as Travelocity or Expedia, which can also provide for easier booking and information gathering. Please reach out if you need help finding somewhere to stay. We're happy to help!

Airbnbs

There are several cute and affordable Airbnbs in the area. We'd recommend staying close to Playa La Ropa, but anywhere between Playa La Madera and Playa La Ropa are ideal.
