Erica and I like to try and get away on a quiet weekend at least once a year. We reserved a nice cabin at Meemo's Farm in Evart, MI in late January 2024. I booked the location not realizing how nice the facility was until after booking and researching Meemo's more. After a ton of research and planning, I discovered this would be the perfect location for a proposal. The cabin was secluded on the banks of a large pond and had all the modern amenities we could want for a romantic stay. On Friday night we had a quiet dinner and Erica repeatedly wondered the occasion we were celebrating with such a beautiful getaway. She stated "Is this for a early Valentine's Day gift" over and over again. On Saturday, I told her that we had reservations for dinner at restaurant near by. Before dinner, I booked Erica a massage at Meemo's spa on site. While she was receiving her massage, I went back to the cabin with the staff to cover the place with roses and candles. When Erica was finished, I revealed to her that the dinner near by was actually being prepared by a private chef back at the cabin. At this point I was extremely nervous and thought there was no way Erica didn't realize that there was a proposal coming. She remained clueless. I ask a staff member to take a picture of us in front of the fireplace before dinner. I began giving a corny speech and Erica still believed I was just running my mouth about our budding relationship to our new friends. As I wrapped up the speech, I dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring. Erica's eyes showed nothing but shock as she happily said "Yes!". And from there the rest is history...
