Our journey began on October 11, 2024, when we were introduced by someone incredibly special to both of us — Nita Patterson. She clearly saw something in us before we ever did.

Just a week later, on October 18, we went on our first date at Cypress Social. It was relaxed and genuine, filled with laughter and easy conversation. We felt an unexpected connection — something neither of us was really looking for, but both of us deeply needed.

Not long after, on November 8, we officially started dating. Since then, our relationship has been filled with love, faith, music, and a whole lot of laughter.

Ericha, from Marked Tree, Arkansas, and Mareko, from Jackson, Mississippi, came from different places, but quickly discovered a shared heart. We both love God deeply, and one of our greatest joys has been worshiping together — it’s become a powerful foundation in our relationship. We also share a love for music, which always seems to find its way into our moments, big and small.

Somewhere early on, Mareko jokingly told Ericha to “stop dry texting” — and from that moment, we’ve never had a dull conversation since. That little spark of honesty turned into a fire of connection that’s only grown stronger over time.

Through it all, we’ve found something rare and beautiful — a safe place in each other. A place of peace, joy, understanding, and unwavering support.

On June 20, 2025, Mareko brought us back to where it all started — Cypress Social — and asked Ericha to spend forever together. (She said yes, of course!)

Now, we’re counting down the days to say “I do” and start this next chapter of our journey together. We’re so grateful for the love that brought us here — and even more grateful to share this moment with you.
