Our journey began in the most romantic way imaginable. Both of us sitting behind phone screens, swiping, judging whether someone's profile deserved an in person meeting or not. Everything we'd been taught as children about never judging a book by its cover was completely thrown out the window in our pursuit of love.
What was it exactly that garnered us swiping in the same direction you ask? Well, Jack stated on his profile he was "oddly attracted to women who golf" so I knew I had that going for me at least. What attracted me to Jack's profile was he had uploaded a photo of him playing golf. I thought his swing looked pretty athletic from the photo and he mentioned being a fellow collegiate athlete, which was something we had shared experience in.
Jack said what drew him to my profile was a video I had on it. It was from a trip to the Bahamas for a golf tournament. During this trip I found a coconut on the golf course during a practice round and REALLY wanted to crack it open for some fresh coconut water. Mind you this was the ONLY coconut to be found on the entire course. In the video, I raise the coconut above my head and slam it down on the cart path, specifically the curb. The coconut proceeds to hit the corner of the curb perfectly and bounce straight into my shin. I guess someone willing to post an embarrassing moment online had jack realizing how much fun they could be. Thank God for that! I personally like to remind him there is no return to sender on this purchase. He knew from that video what he was getting into from the very beginning!
Fast forward and we now get to say we are truly each other's best friend. There is something so special about knowing the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with is your built in bestie. We each found someone who can make the other laugh for a lifetime, be a shoulder to cry on, dance in the kitchen with, be silly and weird with and most importantly, Jack found a built in golf coach for life! Talk about hitting the lottery! ;) In all seriousness, we both did!
