While Julia was recovering from covid-19 in January 2021, she decided to give the dating apps one more try. Erik was a nurse during covid working long days so dating apps were a good way to meet someone outside of the medical field. Erik's witty profile and Julia's cute brewery pictures made them both swipe right. After a few jokes back and forth and a psychology game, they decided to meet for dinner at Mick O'Sheas in Baltimore. They talked about everything and felt comfortable with each other from the beginning. Julia loved Erik's humor and calm demeanor and Erik loved Julia's cute laugh and caring personality.

It didn't take long for them to get serious. They started traveling together, spending time with family and friends, and then Erik started NP school. He decided to propose so Julia could be his sugar mama... oh wait! That's not how the story goes...

After moving in together and seeing how Erik loved and cared for her dog Harley, Julia knew she wanted to marry him. Erik knew he wanted to propose when he heard Julia singing every word to blink-182 in the car on a road trip. He couldn't wait to hear her sing for the rest of their lives... (ha!) Julia thought Erik was going to propose on many occasions but Erik was just throwing her off the scent. In December 2022, Erik took Julia to Rawlings Conservatory, a botanical garden, and popped the question. He knew Rawlings would be a great place for a proposal since Julia loves plants.

Erik and Julia can't wait to celebrate together with all their people in August!
