Drew & Erika met at church shortly after she moved to LA. They started noticing each other at group events like this game night, so Drew got her # and asked her out. Their first date was a perfect picnic in the park and it went so well that they had their second date later that week. It’s been a fairytale story ever since!
They both fell hard and fast in that first month, and they both knew this could be something real. God challenged them to take time apart, thankfully not forever. It was during this time that they learned how to be friends outside of romance and did some very deep healing work on both sides. It was the hardest season ever, but laid the groundwork for a truly healthy and stable relationship to be built afterwards.
After much prayer and healing, Drew and Erika finally became official in March, and it’s been a whirlwind romance ever since. With a foundation of trust established and God at the center of everything, Drew and Erika quickly began planning their life together. They have weathered more than a few storms, and gotten closer with every single one of them.
In April, Drew visited Santa Rosa for the first time to meet the family and celebrate both Passover and Easter. Despite tackling his nerves and surviving a totally unexpected face off with Erik, he made a wonderful impression.
Drew and Erika love to go hiking and camping! They love to get out into nature whenever possible. Drew is nearly more of a hippie than Erika is!
Drew and Erika both work in the film industry and had the opportunity to work together on the same set in August!
Drew is a talented actor and a master of many faces, voices, and alter-egos (which just translates to sheer goofiness at home). Erika loves helping him put together wacky outfits and crazy hairdos both for work and just for fun.
In November, Erika got to meet most of Drew’s siblings at a big Davis family Thanksgiving extravaganza! She and Drew had so much fun spending time with family so she could get to know (almost) everyone.
Drew proposed on Valentine’s Day and managed to completely surprise Erika even though she knew he had been planning it for months. He took her out to the museum all day so two of their best friends could sneak in and transform the front garden into a romantic twinkly fairyland. She started crying before his knee even hit the floor, and somewhere in the middle of her hysterics managed to say yes.
