Please know that your presence is the best present we could have.  If it rains the day of the wedding, you will receive a text message that the ceremony has been moved to Apple Creek Farm. If you do not receive a message, it will still be at the Family Lake.  There will be a cash bar.

If you have made it to this page, we invite you to cozy up with a blanket, your favorite drink and be ready for a good chuckle. First, let’s rewind back to June 22, 2024, the night of Erikas cousin Jesse’s surprise birthday party. However, that was not the only surprise happening that night. For there were matchmakers amidst the crowd, plotting for two random people to cross paths. Erikas family member, Debbie, had started to unfold their plan of pointing out Brooks to her, but she had already noticed him as he made his way across the room in his sleeveless SOT shirt, showing off his muscles and tattoo. Next, it was time for Jason to unleash his side of the matchmaking plan, to introduce the two. He pulled Brooks away from a nail biting game of corn hole, letting him know that there was someone here that he wanted to introduce him to. As he pointed out Erika, Brooks began to smile for he had already noticed Erika when he first came into the room. Jason and Brooks continued to talk as Erika innocently walked by to go outside for some fresh air (This is the real truth, unlike what Jason and Brooks believed that Erika was walking by on purpose to get Brooks attention). Jason quickly pulled her over to introduce the two. Her palms were sweaty due to her nervousness of meeting Brooks and she couldnt even make eye contact. The two shook hands, not knowing that this was just the beginning of a new chapter in each of their own stories. For the rest of the party the two did not talk, just took peeks at each other from across the room. As the night died out, they both went their separate ways, curious, wondering. Pretty exciting, right?? One might think this is where the story ends, but if it had then we wouldnt be here now. The next morning as Erika was leaving church and getting into her car, she checked her phone. Much to her surprise, she had received a Facebook message from Brooks asking if she would be interested in dinner. In disbelief, she quickly messaged her friend, Kathy, asking for her advice on what to do. Of course, Kathy, being the wise one she is, steered her in the right direction. So, Erika messaged Brooks back and from there they made arrangements for their first lunch date at Sweet Smoke BBQ. Before leaving lunch, a second date was arranged, where Brooks picked Erika up to treat her to dinner at The Summit Winery. Dinner was followed up with a walk around the Capitol and a surpise cherry cheesecake, from the delicious Plate And Pour, under the stars. Little did Brooks know that cherry cheesecake was Erikas favorite. He was already winning her over with her favorite dessert and inquisitive walks. The rest of the story is yet to be written, but now you all are part of this beautiful chapter. We are both so thankful for the people who prayed for us in our times of hardship, singleness and now as a couple. God had a path for us that neither one of us saw coming. A path full of joy, challenges and blessings as two families merge into one. We are so excited to share it with loved ones around us that have been there for us, spoke life into us, and prayed over us. Thank you all for being a part of our little story!
