Why did we decide to do a 3 day weekend wedding?
Our family and friends mean a lot to us, so we wanted to have a celebration that would be fun and memorable for all. We feel that this is the perfect venue to bring everyone together for a big reunion. We often hear about how fast your wedding day goes and how stressful it is to ensure you make memories with all your guests while still soaking up your day - having a 3 day weekend wedding allows us to ensure we have plenty of time to make lots of memories with all of you! Hawkesdene has something to offer everyone, whether you want a relaxing weekend getaway or want to be more adventurous - there is sure to be something for you!
What's included in my payment to stay at the venue?
Aside from your room in one of the cabins on the property, all meals and drinks are included in your payment. Alcoholic beverages will be provided for all dinners along with mimosas and bloody marys some mornings.
What airport should we fly into?
Atlanta airport is a 2.5 hour drive from the Hawkesdene estate (Andrews, NC) and is mostly highway. This will be the best airport to fly into because it has the most flight options and the easiest drive through the mountains to get to the venue since it is primarily driving on an interstate.
Chattanooga, Asheville and Knoxville are also within 2 hour driving distances to the venue, but the roads to get there are windier mountain roads and they are smaller airports so flights are limited.
How do I pick my room at the venue?
You don't! We will assign the rooms and cabins based on how many people are in your party and who you know at wedding. We will group families/friends by the number of rooms in each cottage. We will make certain everyone gets appropriate lodging.
How do i rsvp?
There is a link on this website for online RSVP where you can accept or decline for both the wedding ceremony and the entire weekend at Hawkesdene.
When do i need to rsvp by?
You will receive a formal invitation with your deadline to RSVP. Invitations will be first sent out to immediate family and wedding party to ensure they can reserve their stay at Hawkesdene if they choose to, so make sure you respond by your RSVP deadline to secure your room at Hawkesdene. A second round of wedding invitations will go out to the rest of the guests and we will fill up all remaining rooms. Lodging at Hawkesdene is limited, so you'll want to reserve your room as soon as possible with at least the $100/person deposit.
How do i pay to secure my spot at Hawkesdene for the weekend?
Please go to https://www.hawkesdene.com/guest-payments/ to fill out the payment form and reference the travel page on this website for more details. Upon processing your payment, you will receive an email receipt saying your payment has been processed. Allow 3-4 business days for payment to process.
When is the final payment due to stay at Hawkesdene?
June 24, 2024. Make sure that prior to that date you have at least paid your $100/person deposit to reserve your room.
Do i have to stay the full 3 nights at hawkesdene?
No, however, regardless of whether you stay 1, 2, or 3 nights, it will still be a flat rate of $450 per person.
Are there any additional on-site charges other than the $450/person?
No, this price includes all lodging, food, alcohol, and activities onsite during the weekend. However, if there is an activity you would like to do off-site of Hawkesdene, that will need to be paid for and scheduled by you.
When are my payments due by?
Please complete ALL payments by May 22, 2024.
Are kids invited?
While we love all of your children, unfortunately we are only able to accommodate the children in the wedding party.
What if i have food allergies?
There is a spot to include any allergies or dietary restrictions on the online RSVP. We will relay your information to the cooking staff so that we can accommodate everyone's dietary needs.
Should I bring any snacks, or alcohol?
There will be snacks at the main house between meals and alcohol will be served with every dinner. You are welcome to bring any additional items or specific snacks/alcohol that you want, but there will be plenty of everything provided.
What should I pack?
Weather will be in mid 70s-80s during the day and may drop to 55 at night. Make sure to bring appropriate shoes as most of the cottages have gravel walkways. The area where the wedding reception will be held is gravel, but the dance floor is pavement. Women will want to either bring a change of shoes or stick to larger wedged shoes. Most activities will be outside. The weather should be beautiful, but bring a sweater if you are cold natured. If you would like to go hiking or adventure to an offsite location, make sure to bring some athletic/outdoorsy clothes. Don't forget your tennis shoes. Most of the weekend activities will be very casual/lowkey, but you will need formal attire for the wedding ceremony and reception.
