Marc and Erika first met, as all romances start in the 21st century, online. Erika's first impression of Marc was his love of travel and his amazing blue eyes. Marc's first message was on a photo of Erika's that had her face drawn into the foam on a Guinness beer. He said "thats the second best beer I've ever seen" followed by a picture of his own face on a Guinness. It turned out that both of them had been to Ireland within three months of each other.

Fast forward to their first date where they shared their love of beer at Redemption Rock Brewery in Worcester, MA . At the end of the date, Erika felt an amazing connection and thought Marc did too. She assumed he was going to kiss her and when it turned out to be a hug, she ended up kissing his ear. As she walked back to her car, thinking all hope was lost, he texted her and asked for a second date.

One of the first memories Erika has where she thought to herself, "I could picture marrying Marc," was walking along a beach in Maine. Of course, Marc points to a different memory as a particular highlight of their relationship. He recalled the time that he first spent the night and woke up next to Erika.

The proposal happened in Franconia's Notch, on February 24th 2024, just two days before their three year anniversary. The two hiked a trail and he surprised her at the peak. When Marc proposed to Erika, she was so excited that she tackled him into the snow before he could get all of the words out. Erika spent the rest of the hike down the mountain, crying tears of joy.
