It’s true what they say: “What is truly for you, won’t go past you”.
This story begins back in February 2020, before global pandemics, Zoom meetings, and social distancing. Not too far from the Baltimore International Airport, there is an old office complex where we both worked at one time, but this time we were both there for a training course. I remember when she first walked in the room and two thoughts immediately came into my mind: 1) Finally, someone I’ve encountered since starting work here that is my age and 2) Who is this beautiful girl? After coming up with an excuse to introduce myself and trade numbers, Erin had finally entered the chat room (aka my life).
Then, a few weeks later, the world decided to stop for a while in late March 2020 (sort of). Fast forward to later that year, we started spending more time together as friends (I know I was dragging my feet on this one…THE ONE). Over a year and a half later, after many questions and (not so) subtle hints from nearly everyone we knew, we decided to take that leap together and start dating in November 2021.
Our first date consisted of CrossFit, coffee, tacos, beer, and looking at relics from the Cold War at the Spy Museum in Washington D.C., which for those who know us, sums up our passions quite well. From that point forward, it’s been adventure after adventure together from dodging drunk Santas in New York City to plunging into the Baltic Sea together (after escaping a strange Finnish man who loved saunas) to overlooking Edinburgh together after the (thankfully) successful proposal atop Arthur’s Seat. There is no one else I could imagine as my adventure partner for this life. I’d say my only regret is that I wish I had realized it sooner, but as they say: “What is truly for you, won’t go past you”.
We look forward to sharing the next part of this adventure with you on August 30th, 2024!
