Erin’s perspective
I met Justin on a mission trip our church’s Youth Group went on back in 2019. I was a very shy person back then so we didn’t have any conversations until a month after the mission trip where Justin asked to face time me. After a few months of talking, he asked me to homecoming, which I had to turn down due to a work conflict, but it worked out for the better because our first date was a few weeks later at Panera where we talked for several hours. A couple weeks after that we had our second date at Panera, where again we talked for a while. At the end of that night Justin asked me to be his girlfriend. Through our years of dating I had become more and more sure that he was the guy I was going to marry. About a month before our three year anniversary, we were talking about our future when he told me it would be at least another 5 years before we got married (to apparently throw me off) which was not what I was anticipating at all. Then, on October 26th, 2022, Justin took me to a fancy dinner at J. Alexander’s, where, after dinner, he surprised me with his proposal! I never would have guessed a 5 year timeline would actually turn into less than a year. I couldn’t have asked for a better story or anyone else to spend the rest of my life with.
Justin’s perspective
I met Erin in the summer of 2019 on a mission trip, and although I didn’t talk to her really until afterward, she caught my eye every time I saw her. After talking for a while, I decided to ask her to homecoming, but she claims she had a work conflict that night. Nevertheless, I asked her out again, and when we went to panera and for 3 hours, I somehow had the easiest and most nerve-racking conversation of my life. Little coffee dates led to making plans that took entire days to complete, and those led to her spending most days at my house just so that we got to be together. There has been no doubt for a long time that I wanted to marry Erin, and on our 3 year anniversary, I decided to propose, and again, it was the most nerve-racking and easiest thing I’ve ever done. Im so lucky that I’ve had Erin for the past 3 years, and that I get to have her by my side for the rest of my life.
