Cam and Erin met at an Ice Cream shop in South Portland. They had both agreed to go out with a group of friends that afternoon and had only seen each other in passing, but they hit it off right away. Erin says she was smitten with Cam from day one, but neither made a move and they remained just friends for the following year. It took a while for Cam to notice that Erin was interested, but one day he asked if what they were doing when they hung out all those times was “dating.” Erin said no it definitely wasn’t, but if he was asking she’d love to go out on a date with him. Soon after Cam asked Erin to be his girlfriend. They called each other every night of Erin’s senior year of high school and Cam’s first year in the working world. They took the next step and moved in together; they adopted a cat and bought a big T.V. and finally started their life together all on their own. They’ve been supporting each other through hardships like terrible jobs, health scares, fights with parents and friends, and living off of Domino’s pizza. A year later Cam proposed. Cam convinced their roommates Kaddie and Michael to take Erin out to get her nails done and when they came back to the apartment the entryway and stairs were covered in rose petals. The room was filled with photos of the couple hanging from string and Cam was in the center of it all on one knee. The second he got the question out Erin said yes.
