Erin and Freddie first met through mutual friends at a birthday party in Manayunk. Freddie’s first impression of Erin was her walking around the townhouse shoving a bag of pretzels in people’s face – regardless of if she knew who you were or not. Watching the interactions between Erin and the different people at the party immediately drew Freddie in, as Erin’s bright personality and infectious smile was reciprocated by each person she was forcing to eat pretzels against their will. It wasn’t until later that night when Erin and Freddie found themselves within a small group conversation that overtime dwindled to the both of them having a long 1-on-1 conversation, admittedly driven by Erin asking questions about every topic under the sun. After that night, a few weeks went by until Erin and Freddie re-connected through social media and began talking on a daily basis. Over the course of the next few months, they went on various dates between Reading and Philadelphia as Erin was living at home finishing up her graduate program. Finally in November of that year, Erin moved to Philadelphia with her sister resulting in Freddie and Erin spending more and more time together. The moment Freddie knew Erin was the one was joining in on his first Franey family trip to Mountain Springs Lake in the Poconos in May of 2022. Solidifying the way he felt about Erin was how welcomed, comfortable, and at home he felt being around Erin’s family. Later that summer, at a work event a co-worker asked Freddie if Erin was the one to which he responded, “yes she is, I am definitely going to marry her one day.” (This story is news to Erin and the first time she is learning about this is when she reads this). Erin and Freddie started the next chapter of their life in May of 2023, when they moved in together. If Freddie’s feelings about Erin weren’t strong enough, coming home everyday to his bestfriend only confirmed his intentions of wanting to “marry her one day.” In July of 2024, Freddie concocted a plan to propose to Erin at the arboretum up at Penn State, only to realize the night before that the arboretum was going to be packed with people given it was Arts Fest weekend. As a result, Freddie decided to drive Erin up winding mountain roads, park the car along a dirt road, and start walking down the dirt road to a lookout point in Tussey Mountain where Freddie asked Erin to spend the rest of their lives together.

Is there parking at the Loews Hotel?

Yes, the Loews Hotel has valet parking available on-site for overnight guests. The valet entrance is located on the 12th Street side of the hotel. Current valet rate is $60.02 per night and is inclusive of tax (subject to change). The nearest self-park option, not affiliated with the hotel, is located across the street from the hotel’s valet entrance on 12th Street. There are many other self-park options within a couple blocks of the hotel.

Is there parking at the Ballroom at the Ben?

Yes, there is a public parking lot located at 909 Sansom Street Philadelphia, PA 19107. Guests who chose to utilize this amenity will have to pay a parking fee.

Will there be a coat check?

What is “Black Tie Optional” dress code?
