What is Black Tie Optional?

The dress code is taken seriously for this event, and we would love for you to fit in with our wedding theme. If you feel like you can't accomodate our dress code, please reach out. If you don't have the level of formal attire that is asked, please just wear all black clothing.

Black Tie Optional is formal at a minimum, and guests should wear black attire. You may have greyscale accents, but the majority of the outfit must be black.

Suits and tuxes must be black with greyscale accents. Ties and dress shoes (not cowboy boots or expensive tennis shoes) are also expected.

Gowns and dresses should be all black and floor length. Please do not wear a short or tea length dress; pants would be preferable as an alternative if you don't have a floor length dress.

NO jeans, khakis, hats, tennis shoes, or anything navy or outside of the greyscale

Bold prints and white accents should also be avoided

Wedding Information

Can I bring my kids?

No. Please take the night off and enjoy yourselves at our wedding! This event is not suitable for children. The only people invited are the guests explicitly listed on your invitation.

Can I bring a plus one?

No. We are already maxing out our venue and will not be able to accommodate any additional guests. Everyone who is invited will be explicitly stated on the invitation.

Why are there not many items on the registry?

First off, we are super honored that you have chosen to share our day with us and your presence is the most valuable gift of all! We are super fortunate to have already bought a house in 2023 and do not need most typical home furnishings that newlyweds ask for. This also means that a lot of the items are probably more pricey since we already have most smaller items. We totally understand some of these may not be reasonable for you, so we would love some help with our home renovation fund as well as a honeymoon fund. You are able to contribute any amount to these. We are also observing the Chinese wedding culture of gifting the couple money in red envelopes. We will be providing red envelopes at our welcome table at the venue if you would like to give in this way instead of buying or contributing to something on our registry.

Won't it be cold in January?

Yes. The ceremony will take place outside. Please make sure you are wearing weather appropriate clothes for the ceremony. Coats and outerwear should still be within the black color requirements. In addition, stilettos are not recommended as the ceremony will be held on grass, and there is gravel and cobblestone throughout the venue.
