Is Erin going to take Peter's last name?
Nope. :)
How should we dress?
Formal dress is encouraged and appreciated, but most importantly we want you to feel gorgeous and ready to dance! **Want to be clear for the men - this means suit, NOT tuxedo. The only men wearing tuxedos at this event will be the waiters.**
Quite a few of you have reached out to ask about our wedding colors, but we want you to wear whatever color(s) you like. Trust me, you'll fit in just great.
Please note that the reception will be outside (tent cover with indoor restroom facilities) and with the exception of the dance floor, the outdoor areas will be on grass, so consider wearing comfortable shoes or bringing an extra pair!
April is one of the most beautiful months in North Carolina. Temperatures range from the lower 50s to mid 70s so please bring layers if you need them.
Will there be parking at all venues?
Yes. Free parking is available in the deck across 7th Street from the Church. Look for the big blue "P" sign. We will provide chaser tickets for you at the Church.
The Mint Museum Randolph has free and ample parking in its parking lot.
How hungry should we come?
Very. We will have heavy hors d'oeuvres, a seated dinner and a pretty sweet cake.
Will there be an open bar?
You betcha. Please make arrangements to get back safely. Ubers are plentiful in the area.
How should I RSVP?
Please reply using the card enclosed in your invite, letting us know who from your party will be attending. If you've misplaced the card, please reach out to Erin.
I have some food allergies/am vegetarian/am vegan. How do I let you know?
Please reach out to Erin with food allergies or dietary preferences. We are happy to accommodate but will need this information by the RSVP date.
Are children invited?
Unfortunately, we have very limited space and the reception is mainly geared toward adults, so we are only inviting a limited number of children. Any children invited have been designated on the invites. We appreciate your understanding.
Where should I stay?
We've included our wedding block under the Travel tab, but some guests are also choosing to stay in Uptown Charlotte. The Church is in Uptown, and the Mint Museum Randolph is close to SouthPark. Both locations have plenty of hotels and restaurants as well as other attractions detailed in our Things to Do section.
Do you have a registry?
Yes. We have registered to upgrade some items on Crate and Barrel, which you can access under the Registry tab but as we are combining two pretty mature households, we always appreciate donations to our cash fund, which is mainly dedicated to updating our home and garden (by far our favorite place).
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please respond by March 29th.
How much travel time between the Church and the Reception?
It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the Mint Museum Randolph from the Church's uptown location.
I have mobility issues. Will the venues be handicapped friendly?
Yes, both venues can accommodate wheelchairs and other types of assistance. If you have any concerns, please reach out to Erin.
Do you have a hashtag?
Peter disagrees with this, but Erin says "Why not?". Please use #peteranderin4202024. We also have a QR code available to upload photos directly into our wedding photo album at the tables for the guests who prefer not to share photos on social media.
Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
The Church has requested that the ceremony be unplugged except for our photographers. Please feel free to fire away at any other events. Hashtag or QR upload optional. :)
Any special significance to your date?
It's a palindrome. And also the birthday weekend for both the mother of the groom and the mother of the bride, so please wish them both a happy birthday.
How early can I arrive to the venues?
The church will open at 4:30 for some delightful organ music. Please be in your seats by 5 for the start of the ceremony.
The Mint Museum Randolph does not officially close to the public until 6pm. Cocktails will be served once the museum closes.
Will we be able to visit the museum during the reception?
Yes, the Heritage Gallery will be open for our guests. Please be respectful of the museum's policies prohibiting food and drink in the galleries.
You keep mentioning reaching out to Erin. How exactly do I do that?
Email is the best way to get me. My email is erin.elizabeth.gilson@gmail.com. I'll be updating this list if any new questions come up. We are so excited to see you!
