How It All Began
Chase and I met online and messaged back and forth for 8 consistent months before actually meeting in person. We met for the first time on December 26, 2016 in Wharton, TX. Soon after we began dating (March 3, 2017.) while I was still attending my senior year of college in Huntsville. I'd drive down almost every weekend to Port Lavaca to visit Chase. In May 2017 I graduated from Sam Houston State University. Knowing we wanted to be together and continue our love story, the day after I graduated I picked up my entire life and future plans and moved to Lolita, TX to be with Chase. We have resided in Lolita ever since where we both hold amazing jobs. I am a teacher/coach in the Industrial Independent School District and Chase works as a supervisor at Formosa. We love the life we’ve built and are blessed to be surrounded by many family and friends.
The Engagement
On October 14, 2017 Chase and I were surprised with the news that we would soon be expecting a baby. We were overjoyed as we have always talked about how important starting a family would be for us someday. On February 3, 2018 Chase and I hosted a Gender Reveal Party at our home. After revealing the gender of our soon to be baby BOY, everyone still gathered around, our OBGYN nurse and family friend, Kelsey surprised us with a gift. Inside was a a baby blue onesie that said, "Mommy will you Marry my Daddy?" As I looked up with tear filled eyes, Chase was down on one knee with the most gorgeous ring I've ever seen! Of course I said YES!
Our Biggest Blessing
3 months later on May 18, 2018 we welcomed our baby boy, Sawyer James Armstead to the world. He was born in Victoria, TX via emergency c-section (due to Mommy’s BP complications) at 33 weeks at 10:35 p.m. He weighed 6lbs. 8 oz. and measured 18 inches long. Sawyer stayed in the NICU for 7 days seeing as he was almost 7 weeks early. We were sent home on May 25, 2018 and started our new adventure as parents. We are absolutely IN LOVE with our baby boy and are so excited he is here with us to be apart of our big day.
