Located at the corner of Brookstown and Main St., the Old Salem Coffee Pot was built in 1858 by Moravian tinsmith brothers Julius and Samuel Mickey to promote their shop.

The Old Salem Coffee Pot, previously called the Mickey Coffee Pot, is seven feet tall and can hold up to 740 gallons, or about 11,840 cups of brew. You will find various “smaller” pots throughout town.

The Big Chair is a Thomasville landmark. It is a large-scale replica of a Duncan Phyfe armchair built in 1950 by Thomasville Furniture Industries. See the chair that future President Lyndon Johnson stood in to deliver a speech while he campaigned for vice president in 1960.

Known as the Bureau of Information in 1926, this restored, beautiful, 19th-century dresser is the “World’s Largest Chest of Drawers.” Standing 36 feet high, it was built to call attention to High Point as the Furniture Capital of the World. Two large socks hang from the drawers as a nod to the areas hosiery industry.
