Our Wedding

Our story started 11 years ago. Erin just graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and moved home to figure out life after college. She took a break from the kitchen and landed a serving a job at Mozza Mia in Edina. On the other side of the suburbs, Matéo had just gotten home from a long stint running Andrew Zimmermans food truck all along the East Coast. He had reached out to a great mentor of his, Chef Corrine, for a job as soon as he got home and it turns out she was the head Chef at Mozza Mia. We both have those moments of seeing each other for the first time engraved in our brains- although, one was admiration of a life at the CIA &amp; one was admiration of the beautiful physique of the other. After working in the same space for a few weeks, there was no secret that there was a deeper connection yet to be explored between us two. However, when Erin becomes infatuated with a specific someone, she gets nervous as heck. One slow monday, Matéo was prepping in the back of the kitchen, directly underneath all of the spices. Erins sidework during lunch shifts were to fill peppercorn grinders for each of the tables out front. Remember how Erin gets nervous? Instead of asking Matéo to scoot out of the way so she could properly grab the 5 pound container of peppercorns, she got clamy and, well, brave, and tried to maneuver herself around him to grab the container. Instead, she got clumsy, per usual, and knocked the 5 pounds of peppercorns off of the spice shelf and all over his prep station. She ran. She was so embarrassed &amp; shocked that she did that. Meanwhile, Matéo is laughing to himself while cleaning up the mess she left. Later that evening, Matéo was greeted with a lovely facebook message from Erin asking to exchange digits.. and also apologizing for the mess! From that moment on, we became inseparable. We ended up working together as Chef &amp; Sous Chef in two other spaces, worked alongside each other in a few more and then decided to take the leap to open and run our own little spaces. After 10 years of burns, tirals &amp; tribulations, three successful establishments, one failure, and one more on the way, Matéo got down on one knee. It was the perfect moment, underneath the moon in Venice, Italy. Our life is crazy, but we wouldnt have it any other way. Thank you for coming &amp; celebrating our love with us. You all have been there for us at least one step of the way and if theres anything this life has taught us its that it always takes a village. We wouldnt be who we are without you. So thank You for your love and support over the last decade. Cheers!

Our favorite coffee shop! It's about 13 minutes from Saint Joseph but it is well worth the stop. Laura &amp; Kayla have grown to be great friends of ours and they're shop is one of the best in MN.

The co-op in town is one of our favorite spaces. Not only does it offer the best snacks &amp; on the go beverages, there's a ton of local artists that call the co-op home! From paintings &amp; prints to coffee mugs &amp; plates- you can get lost in here for hours!

Our first baby! Flour &amp; Flower is all things Erin. Cookies, pie, bread, coffee, flowers, sammies &amp; more cookies! Located in the cutest building in town, the bakery is the sweetest &amp; smallest space- there is no room to sit inside but we will have the patio open to enjoy! F&amp;F will be closed may 12-14 but will reopen thursday-sunday!

Hands down the best restaurant the midwest has to offer ;)Krewe is our second baby- A New Orleans Heritage Restaurant. Krewe was created in honor of Mateo's Mother (Mary's) side of the family. You can find some family recipes like Gumbo, Jambalaya &amp; Red Beans &amp; Rice, and some Southern classics like hushpuppies, crab cakes &amp; collard greens! Krewe will be closed monday &amp; tuesday (may 12 &amp; 13) but will reopen wednesday-sunday!

Craft cider in central MN?! These guys have a great selection of ciders. All made in house, not too sweet &amp; packed with apple flavor. Milk &amp; Honey is a great spot to stop once you've landed in town or have an hour or two to kill!

Hands down, these guys have some of the best craft beer in the midwest. Not only is the beer good, the graphics are even more clever. Bad Habit is great for hanging, they've got snacks &amp; board games to enjoy!

Jupiter Moon Ice Cream - St. Joseph

The most Badass spot in town. Mary Bruno (sweary mary) is the reason Joetown exists. She grew up in the area &amp; took over her dads old print shop. Shes grown to max out the garage it started in &amp; it has the coolest shit you could think of. Not to mention, getting some one on one time with Bruno is an experience in it self. She's the brilliant brains behind our invites, too!
