Our story

Picture of Our story

It may come as a surprise to some but we actually met almost 10 years ago at the ag college down in Harvey. Being in completely different year groups and friend groups it’s fair to say we didn’t have much to do with each other. 4 years later and Cody slid in to the messages and Erin knew she just had to have him. Every weekend onwards we were joined at the hip and spent every weekend doing something different from first dates at the zoo to attending rodeos and introducing Erin to the world of hunting. Within in 6 months we were looking at buying a house of our own and by Christmas that year we were setting roots down in Donnybrook. And to everyone’s surprise another 6 months later we put the house up for rent and we were off to Queensland on the adventure of our lives. It was a spontaneous decision and the best thing we could have done for ourselves. It was challenging to say the least, we had left our home state just as Covid was taking off, and we started a whole new life in foreign state. We worked long days at a beef feedlot and really got a taste of the “real world”. We had our one and only car break down exactly 2 week before we were due to pick up our brand new one, Erin spent her 21st birthday in QLD during peak Covid when no one was allowed to travel, we spent our first Christmas away from our families, we lost one of our dogs, brought a new pup and acquired a new horse, and we met a huge variety of interesting people and made some friends of a lifetime. After spending 12 months in QLD we packed up again and headed back to our home state but settled on a cattle station in the Kimberly which challenged us to a whole new level. We learnt some big life lessons and again met some incredible people but it wasn’t long before we packed up and headed home to our families. During the process we sold our house and moved in with family. A few months later Cody surprised Erin with a holiday to Darwin were he proposed at the bottom of Wangi falls in Litchfield park. We soon settled in a property in waroona and have been planning the wedding since. We have been together for almost 5 years and through it all we have done alot, achieved so much, made Friends of a lifetime, traveled around Australia, and competed in rodeos across the country. We are beyond excited to get married and see what adventure life throws at us next.
