Our Story

Brad Paisley played a concert one summer night in 2019. While by no means a large draw, it had large significance. By a stroke of luck, or fate, or mere coincidence, our friends’ tailgates met on the dusty plains of Mansfield MA. As Nick remembers, Erin’s friends had taken to playing “drinking straight from the bottle” for which, he aptly joined. As Erin remembers, “when he pulled up in jorts (jean shorts) and Timbs” she knew she was in for something special. Needless to say, both remember little of the concert and much of each other. Neither of us knew a game of slapcup, laughing that both our fathers worked for UPS, and comparing pictures of our family dogs would be the start of our story. We quickly began the commute from Worcester to Concord, finding time for mini golf, breweries, and everything in between. We grew fonder of each other at the onset of quarantine, going for long, arbitrary walks and binging TV shows and documentaries. We were fortunate enough to get our starter home learning flooring, curb appeal, and painting (legitimately every single wall) at that rundown house. With the cat, we built a jungle room. The dog, a fenced in pen. We graded 30 tons of loam by hand (Nick enjoyed it so much, he graded another 30). We survived a winter without heat and a summer without water. No matter the task, we always made time for one another. When the opportunity of a forever home came, we leaned on one another. As demanding as the search was, to us it was not if but when. We talk about our future honestly and openly. We always want each other to be heard and understood. A lot goes into a proposal; what type of ring, where to do, how to do it? With our first trip up the slippery Flume Gorge, everything went right. The ring did not fall out of Nick’s pocket, the gorge cleared after a long parade of middle schoolers, and the impromptu photographer actually spoke English. Plymouth is a college town and is home to many activities such as bars, breweries, restaurants, etc. Plymouth is also the "beginning" of northern NH with hiking trails, biking trails, and short adventures.Nearby in Lincoln and North Woodstock (20 minutes north of the Common Man) has a plethora of activities including mini golf, alpine adventures, breweries, restaurants, etc. There are also many quintessential NH sites like Diana's Baths and the Flume Gorge Falls (where we got engaged).
