Oahu is so much more than Waikiki. While we both enjoy a good Mai Tai at the Royal Hawaiian and laying on the beach there, we also enjoy spending most of our time at Sandy beach or on the course (surprise, surprise!). Feel free to reach out for any suggestions on what to do and check out this site for more details.
Our Favorite Beaches
Sandy - great place to lay on the beach and watch the body surfers. Not great for inexperienced swimmers.
Kailua - perfect for any level of swimmer. The waves are small and there is a lot of beach.
Makapuʻu - similar to Sandy Beach. Beautiful views and hike nearby definitely worth checking out.
Sunset - located along North Shore. During November, the waves can be very large. Fun beach to watch the surfers.
Pipeline - located along North Shore. Another great spot to watch surfers and where many surf competitions occur.
Waimea Bay - Beautiful bay along the North Shore. Great place to hop in the water and get a suntan.
Our Favorite Golf Courses
Royal Hawaiian
Turtle Bay
Ko'Olina
Kapolei
Hawaii Prince
Olomana - cheap round on the Eastern side of the island
Hiking
While we aren't the biggest hikers (aka we don't hike), Oahu has some AMAZING trails. Check out this link here for options.
