How We Met

Picture of How We Met

Zeke and I met in the fall of 2016 at the start of physical therapy school in St. Louis. The first time we met was at a happy hour get together in the Central West End at a local Mexican restaurant. Zeke likes to tell everyone that his first memory of me is how I got a little too "happy" at happy hour from one margarita (embarrassing, I know). Despite the embarrassing start, Zeke still liked me enough to be friends. After about six to seven months, just friends started to turn into something more. Over the span of two years, we spent many hard months apart which made our time together even sweeter. All the while, I couldn’t help but feel this growing conviction that we were meant to find each other. We have had the best time sharing our favorite foods, introducing each other to our favorite movies, traveling to new places, and enjoying all the big and small moments in between. We are so excited to share our special day with all of our family and friends and officially start our life together as husband and wife!

The Proposal

Picture of The Proposal

Zeke proposed on April 13, 2019. He planned for us to have a "day date" to celebrate our 2 year anniversary that included brunch and exploring the parts of Forest Park that we had not yet seen. He took me out to brunch at Louie's Wine Dive & Clayton Kitchen where we shared some mimosas and delicious food. Then, we walked around the Art Museum in Forest Park before he finally took me to the Jewel Box on the other side of the park. When we got to the Jewel Box, he took me to a nearby fountain with blooming tulips all around, and then he said some really sweet things, got down on one knee, and proposed! He even organized for pictures to be taken despite his aversion to pictures!! (Thanks again Sam!).

Was I surprised? Short answer, no. Anyone who knows the two of us knows that it is like pulling teeth for either of us to make a decision on what to eat or where to go, so I had my suspicions with the elaborate plan. BUT, I would not change anything, and Zeke made it perfect!
