Our story begins in 2020. Of course we met in college at Fort Lewis, but somehow didn't get funky until later. In the summer of 2020, we connected online and decided to get to know each other better. It was quite the challenge, as Cameron lived in Denver and I was in Pagosa Springs. There was an instant soul connection- somehow we felt like we had known each other our entire lives. Cameron gave it a shot and drove down to spend the weekend with me. Our first date was at the Pagosa Hot Springs and our first kiss was sitting in the middle of the San Juan River. Wilson, our dearly departed best friend, instantly loved Cameron. He was always a good judge of character- this was a sign. That evening the Neowise Comet was visible in the night's sky- and I was spooked. Here was this beautiful man, my dog liked him, we kissed in a river, and NOW THERE'S A COMET IN THE SKY?!?! It felt magical and was the start of this journey for us.

For the next few months, there were some ups and downs as we navigated a long distance relationship. This culminated on our spring break trip in 2021 in the San Luis Valley. We spent the week in a yurt in Crestone, camping in Penitente Canyon, watching the great migration of the Sand Hill Cranes, and talking through our next steps. I had an opportunity to take a job in Denver but I was afraid to take the leap. After that week I knew I needed to see where this relationship could go and I moved to Denver.

Our relationship has grown into a solid foundation to build upon. Over the last few years, we moved in together and snuggled a lot. We have gone on countless adventures, built a community of friends, and grown as individuals. We said goodbye to our dear friend Wilson and few other folks who we miss dearly. We welcomed Bert, Frank, and Rosie into our lives. We became an aunt and an uncle to two beautiful children. We have gone to lots of funky live music and danced our hearts out. We've laughed, wept, celebrated, and loved harder than we had known we could. We are so excited to celebrate with all the people we love- it will mark the beginning of the next chapter in our journey.
