As we quickly approach October 9, we have been considering the best way to proceed with our wedding day given the status of Covid-19. We know you’ve probably been wondering what the plan is, so we wanted to go ahead and share an update.
First of all, we are so thankful that we decided on a whim to get married on March 13th – we were the second to last couple in line at the marriage license office on a Friday afternoon, right before the courts closed down indefinitely due to the pandemic. The last few months have not been how we pictured the start of our marriage, but we have been healthy and have enjoyed spending all our time together in our little house with our dog, Jack.
We have weighed all possible options for the event. Ultimately, given venue restrictions and major concern about the health of our friends, family, and community, we have decided that we will proceed with our wedding day on October 9, with a much smaller group of our immediate family and closest friends.
We are so grateful for everyone who has congratulated, celebrated, and encouraged us since we got engaged last spring. Before the pandemic, we were thrilled to spend the evening eating, drinking and dancing on April 11 with all of you. October 9 will look much different, and we regret that we won’t be able to celebrate with you in person – but are looking forward to the day when this pandemic is over, and we can catch up over coffee, dinner or a beer, like old times.
Love,
Erin and Ben
