Notes About Travel To and On Jekyll Island

What is the Closest Airport to Jekyll Island?

Jacksonville International Airport in Florida is about an hour's drive south of Jekyll Island. The Savannah International Airport is roughly 90 minutes drive north of Jekyll Island. The Atlanta Airport is 4 and half hours drive, and definitely not recommended.

What is the Parking Situation Like?

Guests at The Jekyll Island Resort Club are provided with Self Parking or Valet Parking as part of their Room Fees at no additional charge. Please note that the Jekyll Island Club was designed as a Private Hunting Club in an era before Automobiles, and is a protected Historic Site, so parking is limited. For guests not staying at the resort this may require you to park outside the Historic District and walk to the venue for the wedding.

Is there really a Toll Bridge?

In case you're not aware, Jekyll Island in its entirety is a Georgia State Park, and as such there is a fee to enter. That fee is $10 per day and can be paid either on line or upon entry to the island. The Pass will allow you to park in any public parking lot without additional fee. Purchasing in advance can be done here: https://www.jekyllisland.com/visiting/parking/

Notes About Resort Services

Are Baby Sitters Available?

We love children, but our venue has a strictly limited capacity and we've had to be very discriminating in our guest list. If your invitation did not specifically list your children we respectfully request you arrange for a Sitter. The Resort Reservation Desk will happily provide you with recommended local Sitters.

Are Porters Available?

Check in for all guests of the Jeykll Island Resort is done in the Main Club House, however due to the historic nature of the Club your room can be in one of the Cottages or the Main Club House, some of which could be a 10 minute walk which would be a nuisance with your luggage. For your convenience we have arranged for Porters to bring your luggage to your rooms at no additional fee.

NOTES ABOUT THE WEDDING

What is the Dress Code?

We are SO excited to see our guests dressed up for our big day! The dress code is formal, which for women includes floor-length, tea-length, and midi dresses. For men, suits and tuxes (tie optional) are appropriate. We just ask that you avoid wearing white and wearing jeans. Ladies, please be cautious of shoe choices as the ceremony will take place in the garden, weather permitting.

What Time Should I Arrive?

The ceremony will begin at 5:15pm. We ask that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the ceremony to allow time for parking and seating.
