If you find yourself with some time to kill in between the ceremony and the reception, this coffee shop is a great place to relax for a bit. It is located four miles northeast from the church (about an 8 minute drive). Their coffee, lattes, smoothies, and pastries are excellent!
This is a local winery located just two miles from the church. It's a nice, low-key place to spend an hour or two, so it would be the perfect place to visit between the ceremony and reception. They offer a variety of appetizers and have a selection of eight different wines (Erin recommends the Golden Solstice or the Sweet Elisa, if you like slightly sweeter wines).
If you're not from the Akron area, a side trip to Swenson's is highly recommended. They have great burgers, fries, onion rings, fried zucchini, milkshakes... we could go on and on. If you're not sure what to order, the Galley Boy burger is their specialty. There are multiple locations throughout Northeast Ohio, all listed on their website.
The museum closes at 4, but you can still park and walk around the grounds if you come here after the ceremony. The farm is still active, and there will still be plenty to see and explore! Bonus: The reception will be held at the farm's Gatehouse, so you won't have to travel far at all!
The Winking Lizard is a local tavern chain with a location not too far from the ceremony or reception sites. They have a fairly long list of beers on tap, and delicious appetizers. If you want a place to watch whatever sports game happens to be on, have a drink, and grab a snack, this is a great choice. Their wings and white bread pizza are highly recommended. Just don't fill up too much before the reception!
The beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park is less than a mile from the church, and surrounds the reception area. The Towpath Trail, in particular, leads to a large marsh with lots of wildlife, including beavers. If you're lucky, you may see one of the area blue herons fishing in the water, and maybe even the mama river otter and her pups! It's a nice walk and a relaxing way to spend an hour or two
