The Doughnut Hole

I was at work like any other day at the local bakery and pizzeria. I saw my friend Cole Burgess come in and said hi. Then a friend of his came in and they ate together. I thought this friend was cute and no one else was in the restaurant... So I threw a doughnut hole at him. He was stunned and then threw it back.

I fell in love with Zach because he is fun-loving, honest, caring and so understanding. He accepts me for all I am, even when it's not fun. He brightens my life.

We eventually decided to move in together! We wanted to rent at first but then my dad suggested we buy since renting is out of control right now. We decided we trusted each other enough to buy a house together. We moved in and had a happy year. Then came the water damage. While at the fair in July we had a great time. We hung out with Zach's family and I got my palm read. The lady who read my palm said that a nurse in my life who had passed said to her I should do something in nursing too. (I'm now an RA at Otterbein and love it!) She also said I was with my forever love, and one other thing she said was that she thought we were moving. We said no we weren't and didn't know what that would be about. She said she could see all our stuff in boxes. We kind of took it with a grain of salt. Next thing you know we come home to about an inch of water in our kitchen. Then began the battle with insurance, contractors, mitigation companies, mold... it felt like it would never end. My father graciously took us in over the next THREE MONTHS while we got things slowly done, then extremely fast with the help of Mitch Rexroate, his sons Jesse and Chayton, Corbin Shipley, and my dad of course. Even more friends and family really rallied to help us get this done and I've never felt so much love in a time of need. We are back in the house and have a new cat named Cricket! She is an addition to our first cat Mara, and our dog Charlie. We are happy and healthy and home. And that's all I can ask for.

So glad I threw that doughnut hole.
