Are there any guest attire requirements?

Since our wedding is in the springtime and the wedding party will be wearing light blue, lavender, navy, gold and red, we are asking our guests to select a light or muted color such as light pink, olive, dusty blue, light grey, tan, or blush for their attire. Be sure what you decide to wear is somewhat formal (no jeans/t-shirts please) and not solid white in color. Floral/patterned prints in any color are also okay! Please try to avoid black, dark colors, neons, or solid wedding party colors.

Will the couple be providing flight passes or travel discounts for guests flying in from out of state?

Unfortunately, we are only given a very limited number of buddy passes each per year as part of our benefit packages with the airlines. Because of this we are opting to give passes and discounts only to members of the wedding party and our guests who are flying in from overseas. There are no exceptions. We thank you for understanding.

Can I bring a plus one?

Your invitation will list one or two individuals or your immediate family name. Due to venue size and catering limitations, only those included on the invitation may RSVP.

Do traveling guests have to stay on Disney property, or can they book a hotel room elsewhere?

Guests can opt to book through Disney or David’s DVC Rentals to stay on Disney property, or book a hotel of their choosing off property. Please note that we have no reserved room blocks on or off property, so finding an available room will be your responsibility. If you choose to book through DVC Rentals, please keep in mind you must book several months in advance to ensure your preferred resort and room type will be available, and these highly discounted rates are nonrefundable.

Will there be an open bar or alcohol served?

A selection of beer, wine, champagne, soft drinks and sparkling juice will be served along with a selection of light refreshments and desserts during the celebration.

Can I bring my own alcohol/food?

We ask that you please do not bring your own food or alcohol to the celebration. There are very strict policies regarding consumption of alcohol on Disney property. Disney also does not allow guests to consume food or beverage inside the wedding pavilion. There will be plenty of time in the afternoon and evening hours after the celebration to purchase full meals and alcoholic beverages inside the parks and resorts. If you have dietary restrictions, please indicate specifics on the RSVP form so we can provide you with an appropriate selection of refreshments during the celebration.

Will guests who are driving need to pay for parking?

Parking at the Grand Floridian is free to wedding and resort guests.

Will guests need to purchase Disney park tickets to get in?

No. The Grand Floridian resort is open to the public and free to visit, however if you do plan to visit the parks at any time during your stay you will need to obtain valid park admission.

Is transportation to the ceremony and to/from the celebration provided?

Disney provides free transportation to all guests on property, and the dessert party location is within walking distance from the ceremony pavilion. If you are staying off property, transportation to and from the Grand Floridian Resort will be at your expense.

Are there any specific rules the couple has in place for the event?

Eating and drinking is not allowed inside the Wedding Pavilion. While we encourage guests to record videos of the ceremony and celebration that we can later share with our social media following, we simply ask that you please be respectful of our photographer and not interrupt their work in any way. No flash please! We also kindly ask that you refrain from engaging in rude, hateful, political, or potentially offensive discussion. We will be having guests of a variety of backgrounds and orientations joining us and we want to ensure we provide a safe space for everyone to enjoy the celebrations.

What does the celebration entail? Will a full meal be served?

The celebration/dessert party is not a full reception. It is much more intimate and shorter in duration, and it does not include a full meal but rather a selection of light refreshments and desserts. Since the ceremony and dessert party will be held in the early afternoon, we recommend having lunch before arriving to the event. You are more than welcome to explore the many restaurant options the Disney parks and resorts have to offer if you are looking to enjoy a more substantial meal before or afterwards.

Will the wedding be sensory/autism friendly and wheelchair accessible?

Yes! This is the biggest reason we have chosen to have a small celebration rather than a traditional full reception dinner. It is not as lengthy in duration with only light refreshments and dessert served to accommodate smaller attention spans. Guests will be allowed to munch and mingle at their own pace as there will not be much structure or schedule to the celebration. There will not be any extreme lighting or loud music played. Both the ceremony and celebration venues are wheelchair accessible.
