Luckily for you, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo will be running the weekend of our wedding! This is one of the largest rodeos in the United States and is the most quintessential Texan thing to do. While the name explains the two biggest parts of the 3 week event, it also hosts a number of concerts at night and a carnival during the day. If you're visiting Fort Worth or Texas for the first time, the Rodeo is worth checking out.

One would think that the Stock Show is held at the Stockyards; however, these are two different things. The stockyards are a historic site that in a previous life was the place where cowboys sold their livestock. Now, it is a place for shopping, eating, and especially drinking. Second Rodeo Brewing is located in the Stockyards and is a personal favorite of ours.

The Downtown area of Fort Worth is also known as Sundance Square. Home to our wedding venue, this area contains a multitude of restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment. Contrary to most of Texas, this area is very walkable.

Dallas is a pretty great sports city! While there is little chance that the Cowboys will be playing in Arlington deep into January, the Mavs and Stars will be right in the middle of their seasons. With the stadium being so close to our home, we've made it a habit to attend games when we can.

For those needing an outdoor escape, the Katy Trail is a 3.5 mile paved bike/run/walk trail in the heart of Dallas. During your brisk walk, you may want to stop to grab a beer at Katy Trail Ice House or a jalapeno marg from Tequila Social.
