Ours is a story that began quietly, yet changed everything.

In 2015, fate brought us together at Neighborhood Pharmacy, where Esme had just started working as a pharmacy technician and Rick was already part of the team. What started as small talk slowly blossomed into a deep connection. We found in each other not just a friend, but a missing piece we hadn’t even realized was missing.

Then came a moment that changed everything—on September 25, 2017, under the soft shade of trees in a quiet park, with warm pizza and a bouquet of roses, Rick asked Esme to be his girlfriend. It was simple, sweet, and absolutely perfect. From that day forward, our hearts chose each other—forever.

We began exploring the world together, discovering a shared love for wine, road trips, and the joy of simply being side by side. Each adventure brought us closer, filled with laughter, late-night talks, and dreams whispered under the stars.

In 2021, life took a busy turn—Esme started PA school, and Rick began his career with the BISD Police Department. Even through the chaos, Rick’s love never wavered. He was Esme’s rock—her biggest cheerleader, her late-night coffee maker, and her ever-patient “practice” patient. In the hardest moments, his quiet strength and unwavering belief in her made all the difference.

That same year, our hearts grew even fuller when we welcomed Rocket, our sweet fur baby, into our lives on October 26. He was our first little reminder that love comes in all forms.

In December 2023, Esme graduated, marking not just an academic milestone, but the culmination of years of sacrifice, dedication, and love. Through it all, Rick remained right beside her, proud and steady, the way he always had been.

We chose to stay in our beloved hometown of Brownsville—because home is wherever we're together. And then, on September 24, 2025, something magical happened. During a trip to Colorado, with the majestic Rocky Mountains as our backdrop, Rick knelt down and asked Esme to spend forever with him. It was the moment we had both dreamed of—raw, emotional, and more beautiful than words can ever capture.

After returning home, we rescued our sweet girl Canela, another piece of our little love story. Since then, we’ve wandered through Yosemite, breathed in the ancient beauty of Sequoia, and promised each other this: we’ll explore every national park we can, growing older and deeper in love with every journey.

Ours is a story of friendship turned love, of devotion through life’s highs and lows, and of a future we can’t wait to write together. One trail, one kiss, one forever at a time.

En el 2015, el destino nos unió en Neighborhood Pharmacy, donde Esme acababa de comenzar a trabajar como técnica en farmacia a y Rick ya formaba parte del equipo.. Lo que empezó como simples conversaciones se convirtió poco a poco en una conexión profunda. Encontramos en el otro no solo una amistad, sino una parte de nosotros que no sabíamos que nos faltaba.

Luego llegó un momento que marcó un antes y un después. El 25 de septiembre de 2017, bajo la sombra suave de los árboles en un parque tranquilo, con pizza caliente y un ramo de rosas, Rick le pidió a Esme que fuera su novia. Fue un gesto sencillo, dulce y absolutamente perfecto. Desde ese día, nuestros corazones se eligieron —para siempre.

Comenzamos a explorar el mundo juntos, descubriendo un amor compartido por los viajes, el vino, y la alegría de simplemente estar uno al lado del otro. Cada aventura nos unía más, entre risas, charlas nocturnas y sueños susurrados bajo las estrellas.

En 2021, la vida tomó un rumbo agitado—Esme comenzó la escuela de Asociado Médico y Rick su carrera en el Departamento de Policía de BISD. Aun en medio del caos, el amor de Rick nunca titubeó. Fue el pilar de Esme—su mayor apoyo, su fabricante de café en las madrugadas, y su paciente de práctica con infinita paciencia. En los momentos más difíciles, su fuerza silenciosa y su fe inquebrantable fueron lo que la sostuvo.

Ese mismo año, nuestros corazones se llenaron aún más cuando adoptamos a Rocket, nuestro primer bebé peludo, el 26 de octubre. Él fue el primer recordatorio de que el amor se presenta en muchas formas.

En diciembre de 2023, Esme se graduó, marcando no solo un logro académico, sino la culminación de años de sacrificio, dedicación y amor. Y ahí estuvo Rick, como siempre, a su lado—orgulloso, constante, y enamorado.

Elegimos quedarnos en nuestro querido Brownsville, porque al final, el hogar es cualquier lugar donde estemos juntos. Y luego, el 24 de septiembre de 2025, ocurrió algo mágico. Durante un viaje a Colorado, con las majestuosas Montañas Rocosas como escenario, Rick se arrodilló y le pidió a Esme que pasara el resto de su vida con él. Fue el momento que ambos habían soñado—auténtico, emotivo y más hermoso de lo que las palabras pueden expresar.

Al regresar, rescatamos a nuestra dulce Canela, otra pieza que completa nuestra historia de amor. Desde entonces, hemos recorrido Yosemite, respirado la belleza milenaria de Sequoia, y nos hemos prometido esto: visitar juntos todos los parques nacionales que podamos, creciendo y amándonos más con cada paso.
