Gabriel and Esther were on a dating app not expecting much, when they found each other's profile. They started talking at the end of May 2024. Esther didn't pay attention to the distance between the two of them and Gabriel was just curious and confused how Esther even came up as a person to talk to. By the end of June they really wanted to meet in person, so Gabriel drove the 6 hours from Kingsport TN to Scottsburg IN. Neither of them knew he would end up meeting the majority of her family right away. After meeting each other in person, both of them knew they had something special. For the next few months they met half way in London KY to spend quality time with each other. In between those times they were on the phone as much as they could be. Esther drove to Bristol TN for Thanksgiving with Gabriel's family and Gabriel drove to spend Christmas/ Hanukkah and New Years with Esther's family. On December 26th Gabriel asked Esther to marry him and after a brief moment of disbelief that the time had come, Esther said yes.
