A Sweet Summer

Three and a half years ago, one summer, Ethan and Belle met through mutual friends. Although Ethan once lived in Destin and Belle grew up in Niceville, their paths never crossed, until the timing was just right. What began as an easy friendship quickly became something memorable. Days were spent at the beach, strolling HarborWalk, playing games, and watching movies, surrounded by laughter and a fun group of friends. As summer came to an end, life pulled everyone in different directions like college, new chapters, and big transitions. The group slowly drifted apart, but even then, Ethan and Belle never stopped thinking of each other with warmth and kindness, unaware that this was only the beginning of their story.

About six months later, after not speaking at all, Belle was surprised when her phone rang and Ethan’s name appeared on the screen. Without hesitation, she answered, and the conversation flowed as if no time or distance had ever existed. They caught up on life, laughing and sharing stories, until Belle finally asked what had prompted the unexpected call.Ethan explained that he felt a strong pull to reach out and share something important: he had given his life to Christ in a deeply personal way. He told her he had recently been baptized and encouraged her to watch the video. Belle was overjoyed. When Ethan and Belle first met, Belle had just begun her own journey of pursuing Christ. In the months since, her faith had grown stronger than ever, and she was wholeheartedly committed to following Jesus. Together, they marveled at God’s grace and kindness, bonding over the work He was doing in both of their lives. What felt like a few precious minutes turned into a two-hour conversation.Afterward, Belle watched Ethan’s baptism video and couldn’t hold back her tears. Something had changed. What had once been a sweet friendship became something deeper, no longer just two people connected by the past, but two hearts newly united in faith.

The Call

They kept speaking back and forth, mostly about Jesus and worship. These long phone calls began to spark something more for each of them. Ethan had already been attending Auburn for a year and that is where he found such a beautiful community that poured into him. Belle, with God lighting the path through closed and open doors, led her to attend Auburn as well. Ethan and Belle starting talking about that a lot and even considered seeing each other in person, as Belle wanted to tour Auburn before fully deciding.

After some time talking, Ethan asked Belle if she would like to meet and spend an evening together. Without hesitation, Belle said yes. The night began with Ethan picking her up at the hotel and meeting Mom and Dad, setting the tone for a date filled with intention and joy. Over a delicious dinner, stories and testimonies were shared, worship music played in the car, a movie was watched, dancing filled the kitchen, and laughter echoed as they ran through the rain.It was a night that felt effortless and full, one that confirmed the chemistry between them and marked the beginning of something truly special.

A Date

After their date, Ethan sought wisdom from his mentor on how to pursue Belle with intentionality and purpose. Just a week later, Belle found herself back in Auburn for a financial aid meeting when Ethan asked if he could see her, even if only for a few minutes. Belle said yes, with her dad waiting in the car. In that quiet, meaningful moment, Ethan asked Belle to be his girlfriend and prayed over the future of their relationship.

The Day He Asked

On November 14th, Ethan and Belle spent a peaceful morning together, followed by a restful day. From Belle’s perspective, the plan was simple, celebrating Ethan’s 21st birthday later that evening. Excited to honor him, Belle had no idea what the day truly held. Ethan suggested they take a walk around the lake at Chewacla State Park, fully dressed for dinner afterward. As they walked, they came upon a beautiful waterfall. Ethan gently led Belle to the spot and began sharing the confidence and intention behind the choices he had made. Still, Belle remained completely unaware, after all, it wasn’t unusual for Ethan to express his love so thoughtfully. That is, until he pulled out the ring and got down on one knee. In that moment, joy overflowed, "I love you"s were exchanged, and the day became unforgettable. Ethan closed the moment with a prayer of gratitude and blessing as they committed to pursuing life together, grateful for God’s faithfulness every step of the way.

God's hand has been carefully, intentionally, and tangibly placed on our story. God has been so constant and his faithfulness never changes. We praise God, not just for what he has done, but for who he truly is. We don't want our story to be about us, truly, we don't even want this day to be about us. We want God to be glorified and for the covenant made before him to be seen in front of loved ones. We ask for prayer, we ask for your wisdom, and we ask that you would celebrate a day that God has blessed.

Neily and the bride met their freshman year in a community group and immediately bonded over nonstop conversations and a shared love for Jesus. She was the very first person in Auburn who matched the bride’s devotion to Christ, and from that moment on, she became family. With a voice of an angel, a heart for worship, a love for rock climbing, and a very specific appreciation for marinara sauce (yes...by itself), Neily brings joy, faith, and fun wherever she goes. Her friendship deserves to be honored!

Tanner and the groom met through Auburn’s roommate finder service and bonded over their love of Tennis. They both have watched each other grow closer to and become more like Christ since they met. His dedication to becoming more like Jesus and his love of turtles is awesome.

Reagan is one of the most pure-hearted and kind people you will ever meet, and she truly lights up every room she enters. Her unwavering support and deep love for the bride are incredibly special and felt in every moment. Reagan walks boldly in truth, plays the guitar, and carries a well-loved beautifully annotated Bible. This is just a reflection of her faith and the joy she brings to those around her.

Sky is the person who has walked with the bride the longest, pouring out consistent loyalty and love through every season of life. From childhood to adulthood, life simply wouldn’t be the same without her. Sky’s humor has a way of brightening any room, and her caring heart is something she wears proudly on her sleeve. She loves her dachshund, Molly, and loves engineering (while also sometimes hating it) but tackles it with intelligence, perseverance, and heart.

Bel is the groom’s sister, but truly a sister to the bride in every sense of the word. With a deep love for people and a heart that cares so intentionally, she brings warmth and kindness wherever she goes. Whether she’s expressing herself through fashion, dancing with joy, or sipping on matcha, Bel adds beauty and fun to everyday moments, making life sweeter for everyone around her.

Isabelle, or Izzy, is a friend whose love is steady, consistent, and peaceful. She is someone you can always count on, whether it’s to make you laugh or to listen for hours on end. Izzy walks passionately with the Lord, serves the Church with a sincere heart, and loves her community deeply. It is truly a gift to know her and to be loved by her.
