I don't think either of us ever imagined meeting each other the way that we did! I (Stephanie) downloaded this new dating app called Plenty of Fish. I wasn't expecting much, especially considering there were only 3 weeks left until I going back to Laos! One day, I opened the app and saw Ethan's profile. While looking at his profile, I was a little intimidated because he said he was an ultra marathon runner but what caught my eye was that he said he was passionate about theology. So, I started a conversation with "Who is your favorite theologian?" again.. not expecting much. *Pause for a bit of Ethan's take on things*Ethan was not a fan of dating apps either, and really didn't want to do any more dating online. His best friend Stephen was the first one to mention that he should get back online. Very reluctantly he did so and happened to get on the same app as me. He was very surprised to find a message waiting in his inbox from a random girl asking about theology. Well a couple days later we found ourselves on our first date! If you ask Ethan he would tell you that he was completely prepared to say no to a second date. He knew I was leaving for Laos very soon and didn't think anything would come of us. Well silly him! At the end of our first date he walked me to the door and I said that I had a great time! He didn't say much so I continued and asked if he wanted to go on a second date and he said yes! He'll tell you that in that moment, the Lord moved in him to say yes because on his own, he wasn't thinking he would. For the next three weeks we continued to get to know each other. There was one night where he was working late at a brewery out in Black Forest and I thought I would go out and surprise him! when I showed up to the brewery he was in the back getting something, and I definitely surprised him! The look on his face was priceless!! He started cleaning up for closing and I jumped in and helped him sweep and mop. As I was doing so I caught him staring at me with super wide eyes. I was like, "What's up?" and in the moment he was like "nothin'." Later on (as in a few months later lol) he told me that he went home to his host family's house and the mom was home. She asked him how work was and his response was "Lord willing I'm gonna marry that girl." On labor day weekend of 2024 I came to the realization that I really liked him. Last minute we went to the balloon glow together and I told myself that I was going to tell him while we were sitting under all of the balloons going off. Well I chickened out lol. He took me home and as soon as he put the car in park I stopped him and said "I need to get this out before I lose courage and I told him that I would be okay with him dating me. He went on to explain that he had been constructing a pros and cons list about dating me, and thankfully the pros outweighed the cons. He said that the fact that I brought up dating to him felt like a confirmation from the Lord that this was the right path for us. Two days later I got on a plane lollll. Long distance was difficult but we were committed to each other and wanted to see what the Lord would do! A couple weeks into long distance I (Stephanie) knew in my heart that I wanted to marry him but wasn't completely sure until January. It was extremely difficult but I'm thankful for all the time that we had to really get to know each other's hearts and minds. Long distance consisted of many 5 hour video calls with intentional conversations, laughter, tears, and lots of love. It was crazy because when we would celebrate our month long anniversaries of dating, one of us would have to get up super early to find a breakfast place, and one of us would have to stay up super late because of the 14 hour time difference. Despite the challenges, it gave us both a chance to really get to know each other on a deep heart level. He came to visit me in Laos! Yes, this crazy man flew halfway across the world after being with me for THREE WEEKS in person and proposed!! We went to a northern province called Luang Prabang for the Lao New year. My friend Abbie (who also lives in Laos) planned the whole thing with Ethan internationally! After church on Sunday we all went to a beautiful restaurant called the Tea House and she was like "You guys should like go walk around and take pictures and stuff." When she said that I had a feeling that the proposal was going to happen any minute. We walked down to this pavilion overlooking the river and I was just looking out and taking in the views. At some point while I was looking out on the water I heard Ethan say, "What if I came all the way to Laos and didn't propose?" I responded, still while looking away, "Well I would be kinda sad but I told you that you could do it whenever you wanted." He proceeded to say, "Well it's a good thing there's a ring in my pocket." In shock I turned around to find Ethan on one knee with a ring in his hand. Needless to say I was in shock. And obviously I said yes! Best day ever!! Ethan was with me in Laos for two weeks and we adventured, experienced the Lao new year together, and hung out with so many friends! It was such a sweet time for us to be together and for him to experience Laos! Obviously it was one of the hardest goodbyes I've ever had to face. The last two months of long distance after he came back to America were the hardest.. especially after getting two straight weeks with him. When I landed back in the USA mid June we had a couple more weeks together as an engaged couple! That was really sweet--- just being together after so long. But..... I left him again lol. My mom and I went to the midwest over the 4th of July. Once I got back I was with my best friend Rachel for a week and a half! She came to visit my family and be my witness for the elopement! We eloped on July 18th and it was a perfect day! My mom (Stephanie) was Ethan's witness. After the ceremony we went to Black Bear Diner because I was starving lol. For those of you who don't know it's a super delicious breakfast place. One of the managers took a picture of us in front of the juke box and printed it out for us which was super cute. He also gave us two black bears hugging from their gift shop! He was literally the sweetest. Ethan booked us a beautiful cabin just outside Buena Vista for our elopement and it was amazing! :)

She's my bestie for the restie! We met in an organization back in 2020 and she's been my ride or die ever since! She has walked with me through the best and worst times of my life, always holding fast and encouraging me to pursue the Lord. We have this joke that we leap frog each other, and to this day it remains true! We started in ministry, she changed to being a barista, I did the same, I came overseas to Laos, she started working for a church, and I am continuing in Laos and she just accepted a teaching position! She's been my rock and I'm so thankful for her! Can't wait for you all to meet her too!

Shannon and I met dancing at the good ole' Whiskey Baron which I'm sad to say, no longer exists (yes we're still crying about it lol). I don't remember how the conversation went but her and I started chatting about everything Jesus and ever since then have been besties! We have shared many a heart to heart. Shannon is one of the most kind and encouraging people you will ever meet. If you ever want a deep heart to heart or deep soul encouragement, she's your gal! Or if you need a night out or a great time she's a great hype woman! Can't wait for you all to meet this incredible gal! Oh, also, she is mom to THE CUTEST BABY!!

This is my bestie pal Lily!!!!!! We go WAYYYY back. As in.... we met working at Glen Eyrie in 2018 way back hehe. We started out in a mentor/mentee relationship and that quickly turned into a life-long friendship. Lily has been one of the most consistent and loving people I have ever known. She always tells me the hard truths when I need to hear them and offers me exhortation and encouragement in the good, bad and ugly! She is one of the people that has always been there to remind me of and push me toward my heart for serving overseas, especially when the going got really tough. We have shared many tears, much laughter, and SO many core memories. OH--- We also got to work at the same coffee shop together for a hot minute (Shout out to the Leite fam). She is a joy and treasure, and I'm so thankful for the laughter and life that she has brought to my life!! Can't wait for y'all to meet and be blessed by her presence! She's truly a joy. IT'S MY SISTER Y'ALLLLLLL!!!!!! My sister Lauren always knows how to make me laugh. You can always count on her for some silly shenanigans and some conversations that literally make zero sense. She is someone that you can always count on in a time of need and who is always there for you no matter what. My life is so much better because she's in it, and she has loved me through thick and thin! She's the most incredible sister and I'm so thankful that she is by my side! We may not be in the same city, nor in the same country for very long, but I know that she will stick with me no matter what! Can't wait for y'all to see us be our weirdo sister selves together!! Cat and I met at Woodmen! I remember I was helping out at the welcome center and as soon as I walked out of the closet to get my laniard she walked right up to me! I asked her if she wanted to get coffee and that week alone we ended up getting coffee I think like 3 times bahaha. We shared our life stories with each other and have been thick as thieves ever since! She has been there for me since day one and has included me in her life and treated me like family. I can always count on her to shoot me straight and she always points me back to the word in everything! She's also the best friend ever because she always feeds me hehe. Her couch has been my safe place in some of the hardest and sweetest times of my life! She's a real one and I can't believe I have the honor of being her sister!! Maggie and I go WAYY back.... as in birth! She's  my COUSINN!!! We have grown up together through family Christmas's and vacations alike. Maggie and I have always been thick as thieves. Even as our lives have changed as we have both grown up... we remain close. I can always count on her for honest truth and an open heart willing to listen. This is super close to Red Rocks. Fun fact, this is where Ethan and I officially decided to be boyfriend and girfried :). I would absolutely recommend the fried ice cream! It's been my favorite place ever since I was a kid!

Morrison Inn

Downtown Golden is about 20 minutes from Littleton, but it's a super cute town with lots of walking paths, restaurants, shops and breweries! It's grown alot since I was a kid, and Ethan and I have spent some meaningful nights here together before I went overseas :)

Clement Park is a spacious park with playgrounds, grassy areas, and a very sweet and low key concrete walking path around a lake! If you still want to get out a bit, but don't feel like full on hiking, this is a very sweet spot!

This is the neighborhood where the rehearsal will be! There are A LOT of different trails in the neighborhood! Something sweet and lowkey, but they are dirt trails just so you know! There's also a playground at the front of the neighborhood :) If you drive in a little, there is a giant soccer field and basketball hoops as well

The best coffee shop in Littleton (In my opinion). Again, super close and very tasty! They have lots of seating inside and some outside as well :)
