Our Wedding

Eva and Zach met in this really classy place called Tinder where Zach messaged terrible, really very very bad, jokes to her every day until the day he didn't. The Internet can be a dark place and Eva wasn't having any of that, so she wrote him to demand her daily joke. That was when they started planning to take their relationship for a test drive in the real world. Eva and Zach went on their first date on March 10, 2019. Eva had a hard time remembering the date, and Zach has said that calling it "Daylight Savings" is unacceptable. That doesn't erase the fact that it was indeed Daylights Savings and the world "sprung forward" that morning. Despite the church traffic and having made a brunch date for 11 AM which really felt like a hard 9 AM, Zach was early. Eva was not early. In fact, she may have been a little late because she chose to walk over to the restaurant and had worked late the night before. This was not a deal-breaker. After sharing laughs and breakfast and probably the most coffee Eva has ever drank in one sitting for her whole life, the pair decided that it would be fun to watch a movie. As they went to Zach's truck, Eva made fun of him endlessly for having parked half a mile away despite there being tons of parking in near the restaurant. Zach blamed it on nerves and being a suburbanite who calls all of Chicago "downtown". Soon after reaching Eva's apartment and greeting Nikkita, Eva's long-time pup, the pair chose to watch a movie. The movie was funny and led to a second one. Somewhere early on, Eva, having had too much coffee, decided to take the first of what would become many, many naps during their relationship. As a seasoned coffee drinker, Zach made fun of her relentlessly for being so over-caffeinated by 3 cups of coffee. Eva also blamed this on nerves. Eva and Zach have since gotten over being nervous around each other and are each other's best friends. They have continued scouting out great food around the city, finding great places to hike and camp around the country, and making each other laugh every day, which makes them great candidates for this thing called marriage.

Our Story

Zach and Eva tied the knot on a brisk Tuesday in March 2025 with their immediate families at the Cook County Courthouse and shared an extravagant meal at Trivoli Tavern. The couple opted to wait to take a honeymoon and instead will be taking a trip for their first anniversary in 2026. While Eva enjoys planning vacations using Chat GPT, they are still weighing their options and have not yet confirmed a destination.

While the ceremony is being held at City Hall, many of the day's festivities will be taking place at a local Air BnB known as the "Wedding Hub." 2167 N Stave StChicago, IL

Agenda

12:30 PM:Light refreshments will be provided prior to the day's festivities. We kindly ask that all guests arrive prior to 1:30 PM. 1:30 - 2:00 PM:Transportation will be provided from the Wedding Hub to City Hall. 3:00 PM:Wedding CeremonyCity Hall weddings are done in time slots. Weddings are not based on appointments; there may be a short wait before the nuptials takes place. 4:30 PM:Transportation will be provided to dinner. Reservation at Trivoli Tavern. 6:30- 7:00 PM:Transportation will be provided back to the Wedding Hub. 7:00 PM:Transportation will be provided back to the Wedding Hub where guests are free to leave or stay for coffee or a nightcap.
