It was early June 2022. My older brother Camron was getting married to his fiance Ana. Ana had been living with our family throughout Covid and had earned sister status. Before the wedding, Ana's bridesmaids arrived early to help set up the wedding. Her maid of honor, this blonde bombshell, also arrived early to help prepare for the wedding. As the best man, I had an excuse to talk to her and spend some time with her. We got along great, talking, joking, and a bit of flirting. Then we walked down the aisle for the first time that day.
Throughout the summer, Eva and I got to know each other better. Eva came up to Minnesota to spend time with my sister-in-law, which gave me a great excuse to talk to her. We started to become friends and have long conversations.
Eva lived in Iowa and soon I was going to be going back to school in Wisconsin. So as the summer drew to a close, I told her I liked her and would like to get to know her more. We started to talk over the phone, calling weekly. I looked forward to our calls every week. We would talk for hours, laughing, telling stories, and talking about our lives. Together we lost hours of sleep, and as a result, our friendship blossomed and grew.
In December of 2022, after months apart, we finally met back up in Minnesota and started dating. Beginning our official long-distance relationship, and the rest is history.
