It all started with a wedding... but not ours (yet!).Both Evie and Matt grew up with a friend named Eddie. Matt as a childhood best friend and Evie as a longtime family friend. Despite this shared connection, they somehow went over 25 years without ever being introduced. (Thanks a lot, Eddie.)That finally changed at Eddie's wedding. Matt was a groomsman, and by chance, his parents ended up seated at the same table as Evie's parents. After some friendly conversation (and confirming that Matt was indeed not a UofL fan) both sets of parents decided their youngest children needed to meet.As fate would have it, the very next day, Evie opened Hinge and saw that Matt had already "liked" her. A few messages later, they planned their first date.Their first outing was a round of pickleball (Matt conveniently forgot to mention he played tennis his whole life), followed by lunch.. which turned into a full-day adventure. From that day on, the connection was undeniable.After a year of dating, Matt knew it was time. He planned a "casual dinner" with his brother and sister-in-law, which turned into a walk across the bridge, but subtlety may not be his strong suit. When Matt came downstairs before dinner, the ring box was clearly showing in his front pocket (go to photos to see what I am talking about). Evie did her best not to say anything, but by the time they reached the bridge she knew: this was the moment. And of course, she said yes!
