Our Story

Our Story

Dylan and Eva's love story unfolded one breezy fall afternoon at the quaint Alna Store, a charming setting that would forever hold significance in their hearts. It was a moment tinged with irony, as both Eva and Dylan found themselves under the illusion of being stranded. While Eva anxiously awaited inside, unaware of Dylan's futile attempts to locate her in the parking lot due to her spotty mobile service, the attentive waitstaff checked in on her, adding to the comedic twist of their first encounter.

Despite this initial mishap, fate intervened, serendipitously intertwining their paths. As their connection grew over the course of their first few dates, it became unmistakably clear to both Eva and Dylan that they were destined to journey through life hand in hand.

Their journey together has been marked by significant milestones—a cozy ceremony in early January, the purchase of their first home, and a relocation to the welcoming embrace of Augusta. Now, amidst the hustle and bustle of settling into their new community, they eagerly anticipate the opportunity to gather their nearest and dearest for a grand summer celebration. It is a momentous occasion, not only marking their union but also serving as a testament to the love and support that surrounds them.

As they reflect on the adventures that lie ahead, Dylan and Eva find solace and joy in the prospect of pausing amidst the chaos to share laughter, love, and cherished memories with all of you. Your presence will undoubtedly make this celebration all the more special as they embark on this new chapter of their lives together.

About Dylan

Dylan, a native of New Hampshire, spent his formative years in the picturesque town of Holderness. Immersed in outdoor activities like skateboarding and snowboarding, he also gained hands-on experience working alongside his father, Eric, a contractor turned custom cabinet-maker, while his mother, Bonnie, honed her skills as a hairdresser for nearly three decades. Additionally, Bonnie's passion for cake-making promises to delight guests with her recipes at the August event. Dylan's childhood was enriched by his time spent in Bonnie's salon, where he absorbed the essence of their tight-knit community and enjoyed the company of customers. Living across the street from his paternal grandparents provided opportunities for cherished moments on Squam Lake, adjacent to their family properties.

Transitioning to Maine during his teenage years, Dylan completed his high school education at Lincoln Academy before pursuing further studies at Maine Media in Rockport. His journey led him to various states before settling in New York for several years. Recently, Dylan returned to South Bristol, where he played a pivotal role in renovating his parents' coastal home, a project nearing completion about a year and a half after its purchase. These experiences laid a solid foundation as he and Eva embarked on renovating their historic fixer-upper in Augusta.

In his professional endeavors, Dylan thrives as a self-taught jeweler, specializing in handcrafted, engraved jewelry. He showcases his work on his website, thedncompany.com, and collaborates with The Hunt, a design firm and antique boutique situated along New York's Canal Street. Notably, Dylan's craftsmanship extended to creating Eva's engagement and wedding ring, adorned with white gold and a sparkling champagne diamond. His penchant for spoiling Eva with custom jewelry has already filled her jewelry box to the brim!

About Eva

Eva's roots run deep in Central Maine, where generations of her family have called home. Growing up with her two older brothers, Devin and Bradley, Eva enjoyed a bustling family life enriched by tight-knit bonds. Engaging in public school activities, from team sports to orchestrating fundraisers and participating in musical programs, Eva thrived in her vibrant community, emphasizing the importance of social connections.

During her undergraduate years, Eva dedicated herself to studying opera and refining her skills on the violin as a secondary instrument. However, her academic journey took a turn toward public and nonprofit administration, leading her to graduate with a degree aligned with her passion for community service. After completing a master's degree at the Muskie School, Eva ventured into the realm of higher education before transitioning to roles in economic development for the City of South Portland.

Currently, as a Planner for the City of Augusta and a part-time contributor to South Portland Economic Development, Eva remains committed to both her professional pursuits and her musical endeavors. Guided by her teacher and mentor, Dino Liva, from the Daponte String Quartet, Eva persistently refines her violin skills, engaging in local ensembles and occasionally hosting intimate recitals.

Looking toward the future, Eva envisions setting up a studio in the couple's designated "music room," where she plans to offer violin lessons to aspiring students. With Dylan's enthusiastic support, perhaps he'll even be her first eager student as she embarks on this new chapter of her musical journey.
