It all started the good ole fashioned way, meeting each other at a Fraternity party at Purdue in September of 2018. We immediately hit it off and began talking every day. We went on many dates and had a blast going to different events together and getting to know each other a little more.
The next day, October 14th, 2018, we went on a quick trip to Indy to hang out with family, and that is when Evan officially asked Maria to be his girlfriend! Since then we have had such an amazing time exploring life together, growing together, and most importantly, falling more in love with each other every day!
In May of 2020, Evan graduated Purdue with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. He accepted a job as a manufacturing engineer with L3 Harris, which moved him up to Fort Wayne, Indiana. For the next two and a half years, we did 'long' distance dating. It definitely wasn't easy, but we found a way to make it work and appreciated the time we had when we were together.
In May of 2021, Maria graduated from Purdue with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and went on to pass her boards and became a Registered Nurse. Maria started her career down in Indy at Ascension St. Vincent as a nurse on the Medical Progressive Care Unit. Although we continued to do long distance, we would make the drive to see each other almost every other weekend.
Over the next year and a half, we had a ton of fun attending weddings together, going skiing out in Utah, taking trips to Marco Island, spending many weekends down at the lake, and ended the year with a trip to Las Vegas.
After two and a half year of long distance, Maria moved up to Fort Wayne to be closer to Evan in January of 2023. We love the life we've built together up here, and enjoy sharing our hobbies like cooking, golfing, games, and many more.
On June 6th, 2023, Evan finally popped the question! We were on a beautiful family trip in the mountains in Sundance, Utah. Couldn't have been more perfect!
In between all the wedding planning and business of life, we've found some time to relax and enjoy our time as fiancés.
We are so excited for our wedding to finally be here. The past five and a half years have been so special and hold so many beautiful memories. It's crazy to know that this is only the beginning, and that we still have a lifetime together ahead of us. We cannot wait to see where this journey takes us and to continue to add to our story!
